Really can't go wrong here. Above average breakfast. Nice rooms. Friendly staff. Middle of Anchorage.

We stayed at the Staybridge suites our first night in Anchorage. We had to wait to check in as there was a family checking in ahead of us and the second agent was on the phone the whole time. The room we were given had a terrible mold/mildew/wet carpet odor to it. We went down to the desk to ask for another room but was told they were sold out and sent us a fan and some Febreeze after we waited quite a long while. The parking lot was far from full and we were certain they could have moved us to another room. We promptly cancelled our future stay at this hotel and booked at a different hotel.

We had an outstanding stay at the Staybridge Suites Anchorage! The cleanliness of the rooms was exceptional, and the staff's customer service was truly outstanding. After we called the hotel upon landing, their complimentary airport-hotel shuttle met us at the baggage claim in just 15 minutes. The daily complimentary breakfast buffet also far exceeded our expectations with a really big selection of items. We arrived on a Friday night before our Sunday afternoon cruise departure out of Whittier, and this hotel was the perfect base camp. It is incredibly convenient that there is a Walmart right next door, which is perfect just in case you forgot to pack something for your travels. The only minor room detail missing was an in-room safe, which would have been a nice touch. One final tip for fellow cruisers: if you're taking the train to Whittier, the hotel does not offer a shuttle to the train station, so you will need to arrange your own rideshare or taxi. Still, it was an excellent experience and highly recommended!

I have stayed at the Staybridge Suites Anchorage for more than 60 nights over the past two years for work, with three additional stays totaling another 15 nights already booked this summer. Because of the amount of time I spend here, I expect honest communication and a reasonable level of customer service. When I checked in, I asked about upgrading my room. I was not asking for a complimentary upgrade—I was fully prepared to pay the difference. I was told there were no upgraded rooms available that evening but that I should check back the following morning because it “wouldn’t be a problem.” The next morning, the front desk employee barely looked at the computer, made virtually no effort to check, and immediately told me, “Nope, nothing is open.” That response didn’t make sense considering what I had been told the night before, and the hotel’s own website clearly showed upgraded rooms available for booking. If there was another reason I couldn’t be moved, I would have appreciated an honest explanation. Instead, I felt like I was being dismissed and misled. When the same employee later asked how everything was, I calmly explained my frustration and told her I didn’t appreciate being lied to. Rather than acknowledging the situation or offering an apology, she simply said it “must have been a cancellation.” That explanation didn’t align with what I had already seen or been told. What disappoints me most isn’t that I didn’t receive an upgraded room—it’s the lack of honesty and effort. If there are operational reasons an upgrade can’t be accommodated, I completely understand. What I don’t understand is telling a loyal, repeat guest something that is clearly inconsistent with reality. It’s unfortunate because I genuinely enjoy many aspects of this property, and I’ve demonstrated my loyalty by spending well over two months here during the last two years. I also have three more refundable stays already scheduled. Experiences like this make me question whether I should continue staying here or choose another hotel that values repeat guests and communicates honestly. Customer service isn’t about saying “yes” to every request. It’s about treating guests with respect, making a genuine effort to help, and being honest when the answer is no. Unfortunately, this experience fell well short of that standard

A lot of really nice surprises. The Air Conditioning was number one! Free laundry units was a close 2nd. Good coffee. Super dog friendly and personal staff. Water pressure was on point. Beds were really comfy. Location was good, as far as being close to a lot.
