The lobby is full of character, and the staff was so welcoming, even sharing some of the spooky local legends about the building being haunted. My room had a cozy, boutique feel with really comfortable bedding that made it easy to get a good night's rest. I also really enjoyed the free breakfast buffet in the morning because it had plenty of hot and cold options to fuel up for the day. Being right in the heart of downtown made it super easy to walk to nearby shops and the museum, and I loved being just a couple blocks away from the train station.

This hotel has a lot of charm; real wood, smaller elevator, bigger rooms. The rooms can get toasty since there is central heating, so crack open a window. Understand this is an older hotel with authentic charm. There's a Hilton nearby if you're more into pricier and a more plastic setting. Also, book directly from the hotel because the price was better.

Everything you need to eat, explore, and experience Anchorage is nearby, making it a great base for visitors.  The rooms are clean and cozy, the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the historic charm of the building makes the stay even more memorable. If you’re looking for a boutique hotel with character, convenience, and a great downtown atmosphere, this is definitely a place I would recommend.
