This was the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in. The dressers, clock and nightstands all had dust on them. The windowsill and curtains had literal dirt covering them. Went to sit in the chair and it was so dirty you could tell where it had been sat in and not cleaned.
Shower had no shower curtain and had to request one be put on
I would never stay here again nor would I recommend this hotel to anyone.

The room was booked in December but upon arrival on 4/24/26, the room was not ready; more specifically, it was filthy. There was a layer of dirt over every surface, except for the desk chair which had a butt imprint in the layer of dirt. The hotel staff did what they could to resolve the issue the day of, but the bigger issue is why Holiday Inn did not prepare any better for a sold-out weekend. Additionally, the tv was stuck on one channel and you could not change that channel.

The owner of this hotel along with the Holiday Inn name and IHG should all be ashamed embarrassed. I really don't know where to begin. I guess I'll start with the fact that we were rented a room that had not been properly cleaned from a previous storm that had blown out several windows on the property. The rooms were absolutely covered in red dirt. There was dirt on the fans on the walls and all over the floors. I was able to write words in the dirt on the floors. Take Al ok at my prices photos as proof. There was next to no water pressure in the showers and when the shower was first turned on the water came out rusty. The faucet to the tub was completely loose and hanging on by a thread. The toilet was completely stained. The vanity in the bathroom was warped and cracked. The curtains on the walls were completely shredded from where the glass at previously blown in the windows out. There were no shower curtains provided. After the first night, my son woke up and his face was red and broken out where he had come into contact with some type of irritant in the room. Additionally, there was no housekeeping staff. Zero. They had a contracted housekeeping service that consisted of two housekeepers to service the entire hotel. We were not provided housekeeping service at all. We had to go to the front desk for everything. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told there was no manager on duty and then when I asked what sort of way we could make this right, the front desk staff said to contact IHG customer service. They also informed me to go onto Google and write a one star review. I left my name and contact information and asked for the owner of the property to contact me which has not been done as of yet. I can't make this up. Please, whatever you do, avoid this hotel at all costs. There are simply too many other options and can assure you, they recall better than this property. I've been traveling for both work and leisure for over 30 years and this is without a doubt, the worst hotel experience I've ever had.

When reserving our room we asked about what payment methods were taken here. The General Manager assured us that they accept cash payments.
At check-in we were checked in by the GM & another woman. The GM asked for a card to put on file & said we would pay with cash @ checkout, the other woman was confused by this. Our room did not have a working lamp and was missing lightbulbs. We were told we would get more of both. We never did. We also didn't have a shower curtain so we couldn't shower.
At check out we spoke to a 3rd woman- they are a cashless location. We could not pay with cash. They do not take cash.
So, we payed triple for a room that was missing vital essentials with zero compensation.

If I could give this hotel zero stars I would! Worst hotel experience! Front desk woman was not even at desk to check people in. She took her time getting to us standing in line 3 customers deep. The older Hispanic woman with gray hair looked like she absolutely hated her job! She complained to me about her rough day and how long she had been up. I drove hours and was so tired like many hotel guests. She was rude, very slow, and not at all friendly. She has no people or good customer service skills and shouldn’t be working the front desk. She makes people wait for minutes because she can’t handle more than one person. Forget about getting any kind of help once you’re checked in. She needs to seriously retire or get a job in housekeeping. This is by far the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at for customer service and rooms! Unpacked in first room, not realizing there was no phone and no TV remote. I left to go to the store and came back an hour later and no extra TV remotes in entire hotel. Can’t turn TV on or change anything without remote. Even Motel 6 has a working TV. I had to go down to front desk 4 times because she could never leave and attend to the hotel guests already here. One employee was here that’s it. I’m standing in the hallway because she said she was coming upstairs. She never came up, i had to go to her again and wait in line like school children. You can forget about getting anything brought to room. Also couldn’t log into free WiFi because my room number and last name didn’t exist. Used phone to call 3 times and phone was broken. The rude front desk woman did not care about the already checked in guests. She was bothered when anything was wrong and only focused on checking in new guests. Got a 2nd room and it was worse! More rundown and dirty than the other room with missing amenities. See pictures taken Dec. 2025. Not worth over $50 for this room. Location is hard to find in the dark. Bad reviews are 100% correct! Checking in took a long time and only one person at desk after 3pm. Room was beyond disgusting and needs serious repairs and cleaning. I seriously considered sleeping in my car, instead of this deplorable room. This is the worst Holiday inn express I’ve ever stayed at in USA. The shower head hasn’t been cleaned ever. It was so disgusting and I wouldn’t feel safe standing under water coming out onto my skin. You will regret wasting your money at this overpriced hotel. Holiday inn express was my favorite chain until this nightmare hotel. Stay away from this particular motel rooms. I was in 2 different rooms in one evening and both had issues and were filthy. The dirty bed linens made me itch all over my legs. I’ve never had this happen before at a hotel. I even take an antihistamine. Beds were squeaking every time I moved or turned over. Didn’t get any sleep! Look at pictures taken in 2 different rooms, they don’t lie. There’s only 2 lamps in the entire room. None of the light switches work. No overhead light at all when you walk into the dark room. 10 mins after arriving in room I got red itchy thighs and itching all over body. Pretty sure from bed bugs! Not making any of this up as pics speak for themselves. The air conditioner is extremely loud and not the white noise sound. Toilet is extremely low to floor. Not making any of this up. I didn’t want to stay the night, but it was $100 and I was too tired to keep driving. Warning: stay away from this particular hotel! Would not stay at this hotel ever again even if it was free! Any Lubbock hotel is better than this 1 star motel. Lastly, curtains are off hooks and won’t stay closed to keep light out. I wouldn’t spend my time or waste it writing all this, if it wasn’t true. Want to warn future guests. Read all the reviews and look at pictures. No matter the price or deal, do not stay here!
