    I’m surprised this hotel is classified as a Best Western Plus. The lobby and dining area are attractive but the desk isn’t staffed at all times. This seems to be a big renovation project. The poor condition of our bathroom surprised us with water leaking onto the counter each time the water was turned on, mold on ceiling above tub/shower, bottom of bathroom door was raggedy (much water damage). Beds/pillows were comfortable. One fitted sheet had a large black stain - though sheets appeared/smelled freshly washed. Standard BW breakfast offerings. Guest laundry was reasonably priced though dryer filter wouldn’t sit down into slot completely and was trapping clothing on the edge that was sticking up; able to adjust filter so the end sticking up didn’t catch with the dryer rotations. Dryer dried well. Probably wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

    Check-in person was polite and courteous but either she or the computer were less than efficient. The room had some issues...see photos. And the water did not get hot. A cool/tepid shower on a winter morning is brisk but makes these old bones ache. And why is there a cup or lipstick ring on the towel??

    Very bad language barrier. No communication or bad communication between staff. Mis-leading communication regarding rates. Book only via on-line to be sure of what you are getting rate wise.

    My husband and I stayed at this motel over the weekend, 3 nights, the owner and staff are super nice and they take care of any thing you need, with a smile. They never make you feel like you are bothering them. The beds very comfortable and nice hot shower with good water pressure. The motel is very clean, especially the eating area. They offer a nice variety for breakfast, including eggs, sausage, and waffles. The best part for us was when our two granddauhters were allowed to visit us in our room (our reason for the trip to Texas) , and even got to stay one night with us. We highly recommend this motel. We will definitely stay there again on our next trip to Vidor.
