    Right from the start booking a room here was very difficult. Not because I didn’t understand how to book a room, but because they made it seem like rocket science. I reserved a room from the night of the 8th til the morning of the 11th. They want to go ahead and charge me 212 dollars the 6th and when I called to ask they said they didn’t know what that’s from and how a manager will get back to me. I didn’t get a call at all, matter fact when I went the 8th and asked, I was told it was a direct deposit fee. In his words “we usually don’t do that so I’m not sure why they charged you, but it’ll go in with how much you owe” weird okay… I wasn’t told abt no direct deposit fee but fine okay cool. Everything was going good until the morning of the 10th I hear knocking on my door, which was room service. I told her I’m still checking in until the morning of the 11th. Mistakes happen so I brushed that off and went back to sleep. Then about a hour later another knock. This time harder, and of course I was fed up at this point. I open the door and was greeted by a black older female with a black older gentleman behind her. Keep in mind I’m a very small 20 year old and for these 2 tall very big people knocking on my door, while I was in pjs, no bra, messy hair, I was intimidated. This rude lady goes on saying how I’m not supposed to be here anymore and check out is at 12pm. I say back, how I did reservations until the morning of the 11th and she goes “oh okay I’ll just charge you an extra night since it doesn’t say here” then she proceeds to walk away until I ask her how much is the “extra” night going to be? and with a very uptight tone, she tells me the amount. At this point I am fed up. 1 they charge me without knowing and 2 disrupting the last few days I have left with my marine until he goes back for another year. The times comes to check out. My husband paid for the remaining balance the morning of the 11 by the same rude lady. I wake up today and see charges in my account for 160 bucks and a refund of 9 dollars?? Hold on, why are you charging me money for something I already paid for 2 days ago? at this point I’m fed up. I called my bank for unknown charges and fraud because this is frustrating and sketchy. Never again will I stay in the Hampton and definitely will never stay in this specific location NOR recommend this place to anyone.

    I would like to give this all 5s, but there were AC issues and we had to change rooms. The hotel was clean. The front desk service was ok. The shining highlight was Calvin, in the hotel's breakfast pantry! He was a joy. He engaged with the guests and aimed to please! What an asset! I guess Calvin does a lot of the maintenance as well. I would come back just to see him! Thank you, Calvin!
