I had a beyond disappointing experience at the InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk due to their third-party valet provider, PMC (Parking Management Company). During my stay, a bottle of cologne was stolen from inside my vehicle while it was in the care of the valet. When I noticed the item was missing, I immediately brought it to the attention of both the hotel staff and the PMC valet team. Not only was the hotel completely indifferent to the situation, but the PMC team's handling of the incident was an absolute joke. They essentially accused me of lying and claimed that I "made a scene" the moment I realized my property had been taken. After a supposed "review" of the incident, PMC sent me a formal letter stating they didn't have enough evidence that the item was ever in my car to begin with. It is incredibly insulting to be treated like a liar after paying for a "premium" service that is supposed to keep your vehicle and belongings secure. The InterContinental San Antonio clearly does not care about the integrity of the vendors they allow on their property. If you value your personal belongings and want to be treated with basic respect, do not stay here and definitely do not use their valet service.

This was our first time staying here, and our family had such a great experience! The hotel was spotless, and Emily and the front desk team were incredibly friendly and helpful. We also loved the breakfast and happy hour snacks—they were delicious. Everything met our expectations, and we’d definitely recommend this hotel and would love to come back again.
AVOID THIS HOTEL IF YOU DON’T WANT HEADACHES
I stayed at InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk for two nights (March 18–19), booked through Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts. I prepaid my room rate through Amex. My confirmed charges after checking out were $109.75 and $107.85 which covered parking fee and various taxes.
Initially, I was incorrectly charged $169.75 for the first night. After I requested the $60 FHR breakfast benefit to be applied, the charge was adjusted to $109.75.
However, after checkout, I was hit with an additional $214.53 charge with absolutely no clear explanation.
I have contacted the hotel multiple times by phone and email. Instead of resolving the issue, they have delayed, avoided providing a clear answer, and failed to correct what appears to be an unauthorized charge.
This is unacceptable for a hotel in this category. Charging guests without transparency and then ignoring follow-ups is a serious breach of trust.
If this issue is not resolved promptly, I will escalate the matter through American Express and file a formal dispute.
I strongly urge future guests to carefully review their final bill and monitor their credit card statements after their stay.

While this hotel occupies a great location and boasts a divine pool area, the actual guest experience falls far short.
Financial Red Flags:
Check your statements carefully. I was overcharged by $240 (currently being disputed via Amex) and hit with $2,000 in "mystery holds." Keep your receipts.
Service Failures:
Front Desk: Chronically understaffed and overwhelmed. Because housekeeping calls are routed to a central call center, I frequently had to walk down to the lobby and wait 20 minutes just to get basic requests fulfilled.
Lounge Level: The staff seemed more focused on policing room numbers than providing actual service.
Bell Staff: Ironically, the bellhops refused to let me use a luggage cart myself, yet spent the entire time complaining about their workload while handling my bags.
Pro-Tips: Save $30 a day by parking across the street; the valet charges are New York prices without the New York efficiency.
If you are booking this for the American Express Fine Hotels perks, I suggest managing your expectations—this is a "perfectly adequate" mid-tier hotel masquerading as a luxury property.
