- MJMichele J2 days ago5.0A special dessert cocktail at Hotel Emma's Sternewirth made our Easter weekend. Malcolm suggested one of his favorite dessert cocktails, The Pink Squirrel, a classic cocktail. It was perfect! Jack the manager was very welcoming and gracious and helped us find the perfect spot by the fireplace. Xavier and the whole team made us feel welcomed while they all worked on a holiday. Thank you SW for the perfect evening.

It feels so attentive but not pretentious, special but not stuffy. I would not consider staying anywhere else when we return to San Antonio. Not to mention the best bath products I've ever used at any 5 star hotel!
- JFJim FosterMar 31, 20263.0The public spaces are very cool but the rooms made me feel like I was in an episode of gunsmoke or bonanza. Very poorly laid out and the decor is dated. The shower pressure was so intense it felt like a silkwood shower. Although the food was good, room service took forever to arrive in the mornings. They would quote 20-30 min but it was always a minimum of an hour and they always forgot something. One morning we received dirty plates so I’m not sure about the cleanliness. The library was lovely and peaceful and the staff was overly kind and pleasant. Even with all the lovely staff I don’t think it is a luxury hotel. Also make sure where you choose your room because you can hear all the noise outside on the weekends.

From valet to reception to initial your and porter service, everyone was extremely helpful and kind. The rooms and amenities are unique and well worth a visit just to see what they have achieved with restoring and renovating what was once something I considered a lost cause. The entire area is really well done. Looking forward to the rest of it stay!
- TWTim WrightMar 20, 20261.0We have just finished our stay at The Emma Nice hotel but expensive and had a few issues given rack rate and wanting 5 star service Pool experience was a shocker - no staff waited over 1hr for a drink and in the end ga e up! Asked for a late checkout as flying back to UK but told not possible unless we paid another full night rack rate ! Asked if we could use services such as showers etc befor we left but did not have any Also found out that our travelling companions got a rack that was roughly half ours for same room! Conclusions Don’t expect 5 star service - hotel not geared up for this and unaware what 5 star service is! Shop around for rack rate - I went direct to hotel and got an awful rate!

Is Professional Photography Allowed At Hotel Emma?
Professional photography/videography is only allowed for contracted weddings taking place at the hotel. Media visits must be arranged in advance and official press credentials are required. Hotel Emma reserves the right to ask any photographer/videographer to cease documentation at any time, should their work compromise the enjoyment of our guest experience.
Overnight hotel guests are welcome to take personal photographs or videos while enjoying their stay, so long as the images and videos are for personal, non-commercial purposes. All photographs and video must be taken with a hand-held camera (non-professional equipment).

What Is Hotel Emma's Pet Policy?
Service animals are welcome. We follow the ADA’s definition of Service Animal: an animal specifically trained to perform a task for a disabled person. Disabilities include physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual or other mental disabilities.
Please note: Emotional Support animals, comfort animals, and therapy dogs are not considered service animals under Title II and Title III of the ADA.
A Pet Registration Form must be completed for all pets staying at Hotel Emma. A non-refundable cleaning fee of $250 plus tax applies to ensure that no pet allergens are left in the guestroom for any future guests.
What Is Hotel Emma's Smoking Policy?
Hotel Emma is smoke-free. Smoking is allowed in designated areas on the Pearl campus. If evidence of smoking is detected in a guest’s room, we will charge an additional fee of $500 (plus taxes) to the guest to cover cleaning.
Do You Offer Gift Cards?
Hotel Emma Gift Cards are available for purchase at our giftshop, Curio, and also online via the “Shop” link. Gift Cards are good towards any purchase at Hotel Emma but not valid at other Pearl locations. Hotel Emma Gift Cards do not expire or decrease in value.
Is Hotel Emma Cashless?
We are a cashless property. Should you require cash/change, please visit the Front Desk for assistance. For your convenience, there is also an ATM located on the lobby level.
What Is Hotel Emma's Damages Policy?
We reserve the right to charge guests the cost of rectifying damage, caused by the deliberate, negligent or reckless act of the guest to the hotel’s property or structure. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right to make a charge to the guest’s credit / debit card, or send an invoice for the amount to the registered address. We will, however, make every effort to rectify any damage internally prior to contracting specialists to make the repairs, and therefore will make every effort to keep any costs that the guest would incur to a minimum.
What Is Hotel Emma's Firearms Policy?
The safety and security of our guests and associates is of utmost importance to Hotel Emma at Pearl. This policy is designed for the protection of our guests and associates, and pertains to the presence of firearms on hotel premises.
Hotel Emma recognizes that guests or visitors may legally possess firearms for a variety of legitimate purposes. This policy is intended to create a safe environment for all guests and visitors by providing appropriate guidance over the custody of firearms on our premises.
Hotel premises are private property. Guests or visitors of Hotel Emma who lawfully are permitted to possess a firearm, may bring such firearm onto hotel premises for storage purposes only. Any guest or visitor who is in possession of a firearm on hotel premises is personally responsible for abiding by all applicable federal, state and local laws with respect to firearms, in the jurisdiction where the hotel is located and ensuring that the firearm is:
unloaded
secured in a locked, hard-sided firearm container provided by the guest;
and securely safeguarded at all times in a guest room (or personal vehicle), except when transporting the firearm into or out of the hotel.
Guests who fail to abide by this policy may be asked to leave the hotel premises. A blanket exception to the restrictions described in this policy statement applies only to law enforcement officers and designated military personnel, who are on-duty and required to carry firearms in the performance of their duties. No exemption to this policy is allowed for private persons, even those licensed and permitted to carry a firearm, and/or where applicable, to conceal-carry a firearm.
