My husband and I stayed here for our wedding weekend. The hotel was clean and beautiful, and we loved our room. The lounge had a variety of drinks and little snacks, and we had a quick convenient breakfast there on our last morning when we wanted to fit in a couple more activities before we went home. We enjoyed the coffee shop in the lobby, and the bartenders at the lobby bar were very friendly and professional. Only thing I would change is on-site parking that is not valet, but it's not a bad walk to nearby parking garages. I hope we will return to this hotel for another trip!
I truly enjoyed everything about my stay, from check-in to check-out. The hotel was exceptionally clean, and I appreciated the variety of onsite restaurants offering high-quality dining options. The coffee shop served amazing lattes, and having a bar onsite was a great added touch. What really stood out to me was the outstanding customer service. When I asked for ice, the staff even provided pain relievers, which was such a thoughtful gesture and truly above and beyond. Every interaction with the front desk and restaurant staff was handled with the highest level of professionalism and care. A special thank you to front desk, who assisted us with questions regarding our bill when some breakfast credits were not showing up. They handled everything efficiently and ensured the issue was resolved promptly. Overall, it was an excellent stay, and I would gladly return.
Great experience here! From the valet to check-in. Stacey was our check-in specialist and she was informative, friendly, and exudes patience. The onsite restaurant, The Cavalier, was yummy and fit what we needed for our schedule. They had live music at the bar area, which was nice for a nightcap.
Valet is 60$, there's self-parking around the corner for 30$

Oh my gosh. Ok so. I’ve stayed here before but the last time might be the last time. One issue is one thing but multiple is crazy.
1. People tend to leave trash and trays in the hallway. Not a problem. But on my floor someone left a tray in the hallway. I go to dinner, get back 3 hours later and it’s still there! Ok. Fine. Maybe they’re busy.
2. I was trying to get into the valet on valentines. Understandably it would be busy. But if it’s busy, cars are leaving right? Wrong it appears. We sat in this line over 25 min. One lady said she called into the hotel for help to get somebody to come move cars. I’ve had issues with valet before but never like this. Gotta get a better system.
3. I go to the bar and sit down. I’m by some glasses. Bartender stands right in front of me three times. No greeting. No “I’ll be right with you.” No water. Nothing. There is nothing in front of me. Every bartender knows empty space in front of a patron is a lost opportunity.
4. I trued to go to the mostly empty restaurant on Valentine’s Day. I’m a single lady. I don’t take up a lot of space. I was denied because they required reservation on that night. Things to note: didn’t see this posted anywhere. No text email or anything about this. Front desk said nothing at check in. And there was no sign by the door to indicate such. Also there was hardly anyone in there. It was literally 9pm. After the stay I’d already had I didn’t make a big deal of it.
5. Back to the valet…. GIRL. Why did I get in my car on two seperate occasions and it smelled HEAVILY like cigarette smoke (with a sprinkle of male body odor). This was a rental. I do not smoke. I had to drive with the windows down to get the smell out.
The intercontinental has a standard that was not upheld on my most recent visit. I’m very disappointed. Like I said I probably won’t stay again. This review isn’t to stop anyone else from staying. I’ve stayed maybe 4 other times with miscellaneous issues but this stay was just not great. I have never had an experience like this anywhere. On my way out the front desk did not ask how my stay was and I was headed to the airport. I did bring up some of these issues with staff. I highly doubt anyone working here could honestly say they don’t know these things are issues especially with the valet. So I have to ask myself if they care. End.
I recently stayed at the InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk for a work conference, and I was absolutely blown away by the entire experience. From the moment I checked in to the moment I checked out, the staff made me feel genuinely welcomed and taken care of.
The service here is truly outstanding. Every team member I interacted with—front desk, housekeeping, event staff, and everyone in between—was warm, attentive, and eager to help. It’s clear that the hotel prides itself on customer experience, and it really shows.
The hotel itself is beautiful. My room was spotless, modern, and extremely comfortable, with great views and thoughtful touches that made the stay even better. The amenities were equally impressive. It had a well-equipped fitness center, great on-site dining options, beautiful communal spaces and easy access to the Riverwalk.
As someone attending a conference, I also appreciated the hotel’s meeting spaces—they were clean, comfortable, and very well-organized by the staff.
Overall, this hotel exceeded all expectations. Whether you’re visiting for business or leisure, I highly recommend the InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk. I’ll absolutely be choosing this property again on future trips.
All the staff was amazing but a special thanks to Zhryryhla, Cristina, Emily, Alex, Andy, Aileen and Kevin.
