    My mother currently at the Holiday Inn on the San Antonio River Walk and I’m extremely disappointed with how my family is being treated. My mother prepaid $39 for parking at this hotel, yet when she arrived there was no parking available. Because of this, my mother and my 6-year-old son have been sitting in front of the hotel with nowhere to park, even though the parking was already paid for it’s 10:00pm. What made the situation worse was the way a staff member named Erin spoke to my mother. She was very rude and dismissive instead of trying to help resolve the issue. No guest should be treated this way, especially a grandmother traveling with a young child. As a military service member currently in San Antonio, it’s extremely frustrating to feel helpless while my mother and young son are being treated this way. If parking is prepaid, there should be a space available or the hotel should help resolve the situation immediately.     I had a king room on the river walk side with a balcony. The hotel has friendly staff and great location. Nice spot on the river walk with easy access. Close to everything downtown. Starbucks across the street. However, I will not stay here again unless I had to. The room was not very clean. The floor was very dirty, not swept or mopped or just poorly done. It is a hard floor, not carpet. The lamps had rust spots and were dirty. The room smelled awful several nights. One person in our party had a cockroach in their room.l that hotel staff did come and clean. The bed was comfortable but just hard to stay here with the cleanliness. There are also no USB outlets in the room. Hotel overall just needs a deep clean and updating.

    The room smelled old and musty. The decor is very dated and everything needed to be replaced from the carpet to the shower. The bed did not sleep good. The duvet cover needed replaced. The shower curtain was torn in multiple places. My wife killed ants in the bathroom. I would not walk on the carpet without shoes on. I would rate this hotel as a 3* at best. The only good thing about this property is its location. I would never stay at this property again.

    My wife and I occasionally attend performances at The Majestic Theater in San Antonio. When we do, we usually stay at this hotel because, since we are both 77 years old, it is an easy walk to the theater. We made reservations several weeks in advance when we bought the theater tickets. Unfortunately, my wife became very ill the day before the reservation date. She wasn't better the morning of our reservation, so I called the hotel before 8:00am (for a 4:00pm allowed check-in), to notify them of our situation. I first talked with one of their central reservation specialists, who was very kind and understanding. She told me since I was a long-time IHG member, and under the circumstances, they could cancel the reservation charges. She had to transfer me to the front desk to complete the cancellation. After a very lengthy wait, I explained the situation to the lady that answered. She put me on hold while she spoke to the manager. When she returned, she told me the manager said they would be charging me for the stay since it was within the 46-hour window for cancellation. And they did, even adding on a slight extra charge for something not specified. Since there are several other hotels close to the Majestic, we will probably choose one of those for all future trips to SA. Very disappointed with Holiday Inn-Riverwalk.

    The hotel & the staff at the hotel is absolutely amazing. Stay away from the restaurant inside. We’ve tried twice to eat there now & just walked out for the second time after over 15 minutes of waiting for anyone to acknowledge we were there. We finally got a menu, server turned around & walked away. We heard the mixed reviews in the lobby but all were consistent with if you weren’t sitting right on the bar, the service was horrible. We really wanted to give it a shot & patronize the hotel, but it was just ridiculous. Acenar, right around the corner from the hotel is great, service was outstanding & food was on point.
