This location needs to be desperately updated inside and out. Bathroom has water stains, rust and what appears to be mold growing due to no exhaust fan installed. Internet was spotty and tv sometimes worked and didn’t. Environment felt run down, musty/dusty and poorly maintained. Hotel computer was out of service, location of snack/beverage hub was small and felt poorly placed. Daily free breakfast was barely eatable. The refrigerator system kept cold temp items at minimal cold, all breads were stale and muffins were prepackaged and not good. For what was served, one could have gotten a better breakfast at the convenience store. Room keys had to be reissued everyday due to poor quality of machine to set keys. Room door looks and overall security was basically pointless. The only thing that made my stay somewhat comfortable was front desk person, Vicki. Her experience and friendly smile as well as personality made me feel ok to stay. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone! I’m a IHG member and have not experienced any of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites like this one. I’m disappointed in this particular hotel.

Upon arrival was told there were no rooms available despite having a reservation. Staff at front desk was extremely rude and uncaring. Initial room they “found” reeked of mold and mildew. Worst experience ever in an IHG hotel.

I stay here every year for the stock show. When I arrived on Feb. 12th, I was first told that the elevator wasn't working and I was booked on the 3rd floor. The girl at the front desk did offer to help me haul my luggage up 3 flights of stairs but I declined and did it myself. When I entered my room, I immediately smelled a horrible smell, like mildew. I had noticed an extension cord running into the room next to me and heard a fan so I assumed there had been a water leak. I turned the air down hoping maybe circulating the air might help. I went into the bathroom and after spilling some water on the floor, I wiped it up and the tissue I used was black. I went to the front desk and asked the girl if there had been a water leak. She didn't give me an answer. I told her about the smell and the floor and she told me, "you booked through a third party (hotels.com), there's nothing I can do. We're full." She proceeded to say this to me 3 more times and i let her know that i was also a platinum ihg member. She then said that during the ice storm they had a pipe bust and they had videos that showed it looking like it was raining on the third floor and they had to close the entire floor. I asked why I wasn't contacted and she said it was posted on their website...but I booked through a 3rd party. I told her I would have no reason to check the website because I stay here every year and I booked my room 3 months ago. She continued to tell me there was nothing she could do and that they were full. I told her it was unacceptable and insisted she do something about it. She said I could cancel through the 3rd party I booked with. I told her that I would still be charged $650 in full and her response was, "yeah, I don't know what to tell you." I stayed firm that she was going to fix it, and miraculously, she found an available room. We went together to check it out and it was fine. She asked if we could go to the original room (room 315)real quick. When I opened the door, she wouldn't even go in. She said, "Oh my God. Yeah, that smell hits you right in the face. I don't blame you. You can't stay in there." Fast forward 3 hours later, my friend tried to check in and he was told they didn't have a reservation for him. He gave her the confirmation and she kept telling him that there was nothing she could do. He became very upset showing her emails he received that day about his stay and she got someone else to help. They "found " his reservation and assigned him....room 315!!! After he went in there, he went back down and told them he couldn't stay in that room and they told him there were no other rooms available. A different girl went to the room and came back down and said the room was fine to her. He told her he already knew they had already had to move one person out of that room and she said that insurance had approved the room. He continued to insist they switch his room and, again, miraculously....they had an available room. Night 2, no hot water, but the elevator was fixed. I will now be finding another hotel for my yearly trip here and have informed all of our stock show friends to find a new hotel. Unbelievable that a hotel would think that it was OK to put someone in this room filled with mildew and I'm sure mold considering what I found in the bathroom. Disgusting. Find somewhere else to stay!!

I made reservations in December for February trip. We arrived in San Angelo and when we got ready to look for address to go to the hotel the evening of checkin after working all day I found an email that had been sent earlier that day that they cancelled our reservation due to a busted water pipe from the ice storm a week and a half prior to our trip. No phone call in advance, just a random email sent the day we were to arrive, leaving us with no where to stay. I called customer service and they said that they showed availability and then transferred me to the front office if the local hotel to confirm. The woman who answered the phone was unprofessional, would not listen to my question or let me speak and just kept saying we have no rooms. Offered absolutely no help and then hung up on me. I called back to customer service to file a formal complaint and they transferred me to a supervisor where I waited on hold for 10 minutes and no one ever came back on the line. The worst experience ever and we may not stay with this hotel chain again after years of staying at Holiday Inn Express whenever possible. So frustrating and very disappointing!

We stayed here for the night and the room was very clean. The woman at the front desk (I believe her name was Vicky) was extremely helpful and kind. Will be coming back again! :)
