It's 7pm on a Saturday night and I am listening to this guy drag his ladder across the floor in front of my room and him drilling or something. It been going on for basically 24 hours straight. I would have thought he might have moved down the hall by now but no, just right in front of my room. I am here working and have to get up early and I told the front desk that but it made zero difference. Isn't 7pm a little late for construction, especially on a Saturday. I will never stay at this hotel again and probably never stay at a best western of any kind. When you pay 120 a night you would like to think you would get some peace and quiet.

Best hotel stay in a long time. Very clean, fresh smelling linens, best hotel breakfast ever. Friendly helpful staff.

The location was great. Just off the highway and easy to get back on. The room was nicely appointed, had plenty of space, and was very clean. Ally, the front desk clerk, is another story. She was reading a book in the lobby, when we first arrived, and seemed very annoyed that we interrupted her entertainment. Her greeting was definitely not Texas friendly. She became quite snippy and condescending when she learned that we didn’t have a reservation. And her glare should have melted her computer screen when we requested a ground level room. I asked if she took AAA and she curtly said, yes, but never took my card or member number so I have no idea if I got that discount. She never did tell us how much the room total would be. After telling me to sign the credit card pin pad, she handed me two room key cards and told us full breakfast was served in the morning and where the room was located. No wish for a nice stay…let us know if you need anything…nothing. Perhaps a bit of charm school training would remedy the situation? The breakfast room attendant, Sherry, more than made up for it with her friendly conversation and helpful clean up service. We do recommend this hotel.

UPDATE: I stayed again about a week later. This time in Room 107. First of all, management had read my previous review and responded. I really appreciate that they paid attention. They even provided me with a power strip (without being asked) to plug in my medical device which was very nice of them. Room 107 is more centrally located and the internet was both faster and my three devices stayed connected. Not sure if they had reset the router or whatever, but the internet connection was vastly improved. Towels were nicer as well. Breakfast was still good. Room 107 also (and presumably all rooms) has the wiring set up where the switch by the door controls the entryway light and the outlet at the far corner of the room, but because of the layout of 107, that outlet in the far corner just has a floor lamp plugged into it and isn't used for the bedside table. The bedside table outlet is independent so you can plug in your stuff there and it still works after you turn off the entryway light. I also liked that the hotel wasn't very crowded either time I stayed. Plus the bed was really comfortable. Overall, I really appreciate that management remembered me and responded to my review and I will probably stay here again. Pros: Clean room, extremely comfortable bed, and very friendly staff. Breakfast was typical but good. Cons: Substandard internet. My work phone stayed connected okay, but my computer wouldn't connect at all and my personal phone kept disconnecting. It could have been an isolated incident that evening or it could have been my devices, but I travel quite often for work and rarely have problems with hotel internet. Also, the light switch at the room door that controlled the entryway light in the room also controlled the outlet for the bedside table in the far corner of the room. So when I turned off the entryway light it killed power to that outlet so the bedside lamp didn't work and I couldn't plug in my medical device or phone chargers there. And there were no other outlets nearby. I was in Room 103 but I'm not sure if this problem is present in all rooms. Finally, they had the thinnest, flimsiest towels I've ever experienced. Like drying myself with a sheet. Overall, while I really appreciated the very comfortable bed, the internet problems were a real inconvenience since I almost always have to do work that requires internet connectivity when I travel. Also, the outlet that was controlled by a switch at the far side of the room was a problem and I was only able to use my medical device because I had an extension cord and could plug it in at the desk outlet. Honestly, I might stay here again, if only to test if any of the problems are present in a different room, but on the other hand, Lubbock is only 40 minutes up the road to the northwest and Snyder is only 40 minutes down the road to the southeast and both have several hotels to choose from.

This hotel raises prices after booking. I travel every week for work. When I asked the manager got mad. He then told me never to come back. I travel for work so I need to stay in close proximity. I spend 1200.00 a month at Best Western and this is how I am treated. They do not honor government rates and they are not nice people. Do NOT recommend at all. Avoid this place rooms are mediocre, breakfast is ok runny watery powdered eggs, staff mostly are nice but not all.
