Tru by Hilton in Pflugerville, TX was a very pleasant surprise stay. We stayed 15 nights over the Christmas / New Year's holidays and from customer service to housekeeping to honoring our request for a top floor room away from the ice machine / elevator - yeah this was a great place to stay in so many ways.
Breakfast in the mornings hit the spot and was decent quality in the offerings - which was different most days. Pool was nice, but a bit cold out to use - thought about it though. Plenty of close to the building parking available. Lobby store was crazy well stocked and the TV's / pool table was a hit pretty much every night. Big high five to Jimmy for always being anxious to help and just chat, say Hi!, and recommend places to eat.
Let's talk the room... Bit on the small / cramped side - but in essence just a place to crash, so no biggie. AC will freeze you out if you want it cold! Couldn't get comfortable with the pillows - too soft for me, so bolstered with pool towels in the pillow case. Bed was a king - not the most comfortable, but good enough. Internet was hassle free. TV choices good enough, nothing special - though free HBO. Bathroom - best I've experienced in a very long time! Large shower, plenty of room for two to get ready, and you could take a 15 minute hot hot hot shower and it wouldn't fog the mirror!!! Take a lesson other chains!!! Vent your damn bathrooms!!!
One big big caution - the shower pan in our room was slippery! Not just a little, but a LOT! Like step in and slip when wet or worry about moving and slipping standing there. No joke! I about face planted - which had my wife rushing in to check on me. It's either the provided soap makes things slippery or the water softener or a combo of the two. Be very careful! Y'all might want to attach a couple anti-slip strips or something.
Last bit - the door to the units are heavy, like very heavy. I'm sure it's a fire code thing, so I get it. What I hate about that is ppl let the thing slam shut constantly - which sucks at 2 AM. It's not that tough ppl to close the door without slamming it! Good grief!
Overall - highly recommend staying here. Location was perfect, close to food and shopping, and was everything we could have wanted. Thank you!!

**Beaware of Disrespectful Managers**
This is a great location and for the price it's not such a bad hotel. Its horrible how management is very unprofessional and rude. I stayed at this property for one reservation and decided to do another one and asked the overnight associate can he keep the same rate as the night before and he said yes.Which was Only $11.97 difference. Only to get my receipt and I was charged the regular rate for the night. Talked to the manager and she told me that isn't Not true that he would agree to that since he knows the rules. Basically calling me a liar, instead of checking the cameras or speaking to him. To add I'm a Silver member with Hilton. There's No way I will tolerate this foolish with a manager speaking to me that way. I will be taking my business elsewhere and advise people to beaware of the hotel managers.

It was very clean. Nice ambience. Lots of spaces in lobbies and also outside areas. Warm environment with nice Christmas directions.
The room was small. It was very clean but the bed was hard, not comfortable at all. Linens were good quality.
Some repairs were being done fairly early morning and woke us up on one morning.
AC/heat was the wall type and was very loud.
Near shopping and eateries.

This was the best free hotel breakfast I’ve ever had, or at least in the last 5-10 years, and the hotel was nice in every way. The staff was very pleasant and the Hilton app seems to actually do what it is supposed to do, loved room access with my phone.
We used to stay at Hyatt Place in Round Rock when visiting family in Pflugerville, but it was a little worse for wear during our last visit in 2023. This will be our new go-to since Hilton also allows pets now, at least I think I remember a no-pets policy when the hotel first opened. Chalk it up to the wonders of capitalism— Hilton is competing and winning with an improved breakfast and pets allowed.
