Stayed 6 weeks for work. Staff was friendly and mostly accommodating... weekly room service was mostly adequate but lacked a little in their thoroughness of cleaning. They were a bit of an administrative nightmare ... getting receipts and paperwork in order was difficult due to double charging then posting room credit weekly... At the end, it all worked out it was just aggravating to decipher doing weekly expense reports. Pasadena along the beltway both north and south is under construction and getting around the area is frustrating.

I only have one gripe, the rooms need more light. Everything else was exceptional. This is my go to hotel whenever I visit family. The handicap room has everything I needed to take care of myself away from home. The customer service has always been great.

We stayed at this Candlewood Suites one week ago. We checked in and found ourselves in a nice clean room with a full size refrigerator, microwave and stovetop and comfortable beds. We didn’t have housekeeping all week. Not sure if that’s normal but we were just fine with that as we really didn’t need the service. We stopped at the front desk for additional towels and blankets. The only criticism I really had during our stay was the smell of “gas” in the lobby. When I inquired, I was told that it’s a normal smell that comes from the refineries in the area. We have stayed previously at the Hampton Inn just down the road and didn’t experience this. Maybe it was just the week to have that smell. Our room did not smell of “gas” at all during our stay. I might have rated this experience quite high except for an issue we noticed after we checked out. My Mom has an Apple Watch that we bought her to track her health and also because it has a fall monitor that would call fir help if it detected that she had fallen and might be unresponsive. When a Mom is older, this is a great device to have. Somehow, this must have fallen out of her purse and slid under the bed as we were packing things up to check out of the room. Yes, she should have been wearing it but she wasn’t. She didn’t realize it was missing until the following day. Now while, my sister, husband and I had already returned home out of state, my Mom stayed locally with other family members. When she couldn’t find her Apple Watch, she ran the find my device app and saw that her watch was still at the hotel. She called the hotel and spoke with the front desk representative who told her that it had not been found. I also called the hotel and the front desk representative told me the same thing but she said she would go up and look again since the room was vacant. A few hours passed and my cousin brought my Mom back up to the hotel and asked if they could check the room and the front desk representative wouldn’t allow them to go to the room but she went up to check while they waited. My cousin offered to set off the Apple Watch alarm and the front desk representative told her that wouldn’t be necessary. Now that’s a serious red flag! Why wouldn’t she want them to set off the alarm that would draw her attention to where the Apple Watch was located? Sounds questionable right? So my cousin waited a few minutes until the Front Desk Representative should be in the room and she set the alarm off. Guess where the sound was coming from? The sound was coming from behind the Front Desk! When the Front Desk Representative returned to the front desk and told them she didn’t find it in the room, my cousin told her that she was aware that it wasn’t in the room and that it was in the room behind the Front Desk….the employee break room. They sounded the alarm again and the Front Desk Representative went back into the break room and came out with the watch saying that she didn’t know to check where the watch was located. Questionable and huge glaring red flag. Now I’ve worked in hotels and all have a lost and found space to store items found in rooms or throughout the hotel for a period of time. I would imagine that the housekeeper found the watch and likely turned it into the front desk. What I don’t know is which employee is lacking integrity decided that this shouldn’t remain in the list and found storage and that they shouldn’t contact us to inform us that it was found. It sounds like Human Resources may want to start an investigation to determine who is responsible for this wrongdoing. I know that when you lose something, there is no guarantee that it will be recovered, however, this is a case that shouldn’t have gone the way it did. We will be back in town in early spring and I’m not sure that I would stay in this hotel as I’m not sure I feel I can trust the safety of our possessions. While you never know if you can trust, you have to assume you can unless given a valid reason why you can’t. We have a valid reason.
