A friend of mine and I stayed for the first time at Spark by Hilton in Nacogdoches, Texas, on the weekend of October 10 - 13, 2025. We had specifically chosen this hotel due to both its close location to a nearby training center and the name Hilton has always exemplified quality.
During our stay, we enjoyed the spacious room accommodation and amenities. Ariana was especially helpful in our check-in and helping us throughout the weekend. My friend and I especially enjoyed the "continental breakfast" on the mornings of Saturday and Sunday mornings. Initially when we entered the breakfast area, we had difficulty in locating the eggs and sausage, as they were in the attached conference room away from the other breakfast selections. Fortunately, we found the coffee cart out in the lobby! I mentioned this to Ariana and told of our comical initial missing eggs and sausage. She told us that the reason the eggs and sausage were not with the rest of the breakfast options was due to a lack of kitchen facilities and that they were prepared and brought in from another hotel.
On Monday morning, my friend and I awoke a little later, as we were about to check out and head home. Considering that breakfast was served from 6:00 - 10:00AM, we anticipated similar fare of breakfast selections. Unfortunately, that was not the case! When we entered the breakfast area, we were disappointed to find that the eggs and sausage were missing, leaving only the other selections, unlike our previous two mornings' experience. Upon inquiring Shelby of our observation, she told us that the eggs and sausage were "for the morning staff and was paid for by the staff" and that they were "put away at 7:30 AM". WOW!
Needless to say, my friend and I enjoyed our bagel, banana, yogurt, coffee and apple juice, somewhat disappointed that the "continental breakfast" was lacking on our last day before our return home.
I guess I have always made the assumption that all continental breakfasts consisted of "a buffet-style meal that typically includes items such as bagels, toast, and condiments, pastries, fruit, juice, cereals, beverages, and possibly eggs and meat", according to Quora.com, as that has been my experience in many other hotels.
