My husband was preparing to take a shower when I heard a noise from the bathroom … Water was POURING out of a gaping 2’ x 2’ patched hole in the ceiling over the shower! Someone was showering in the room above & their dirty shower drain water was pouring down into our shower. If my husband had been in the shower, how do you wash that off???? It was so much water that it splashed me as I stood by the sink to take a video. My husband went down to the desk to demand a new room. The owner gave him new keys for a room across the hall, but offered no apology whatsoever until my husband asked if he was going to apologize. He did not offer to help us move, so we repacked our suitcases & moved everything across the hall. In the new room I unfolded a washcloth & found a hair inside it. Not mine—a different color. The hand towels had brown stains on them. The owner made no gesture to offer points or comp the room—perhaps that is no surprise considering he KNEW about the condition of the room and put us in there anyway! It is clear he has no respect or consideration for his guests. There is one Best Western Plus in Valdosta, GA that we love & stay at so often the desk attendants recognize us. But believe me, Best Western hotels will be our last choice anywhere else from now on! If you are planning on staying in Monahans, stay anywhere else!
