The manager was professional and helpful, and I want to acknowledge that upfront. Unfortunately, the overall experience was dominated by rude and highly unprofessional behavior from staff, particularly at the front desk and in housekeeping.
Housekeeping staff were dismissive and unwilling to provide basic services, including clean sheets. It took involving management to receive a full-service room cleaning during a two-week stay, which is unacceptable.
The front desk operations were consistently problematic. Our room keys repeatedly stopped working after a single use, requiring frequent reprogramming. Instead of addressing a likely system issue, I was incorrectly blamed, even when the problem persisted while I had only one key.
More concerning was the repeated behavior of a front desk employee named Emery, who crossed professional boundaries on multiple occasions. She interrupted a private conversation to ask if I wanted to “hang out” after her shift, despite the fact that I did not know her. This interaction was inappropriate and uncomfortable.
Emery later accused me of theft regarding laundry detergent. I was misinformed that laundry was free, and the detergent cabinet was left open and unlocked, which clearly contributed to the misunderstanding. Once the issue was explained, I immediately paid for the item. Despite the matter being resolved, she later made an unnecessary remark to my husband at the front desk implying wrongdoing after payment had already been made.
We were also told by Emery that we could not extend our stay by one additional day because the hotel was “sold out.” However, when I spoke with morning-shift staff, I was told that staying an extra day would not have been a problem, indicating inconsistent and unprofessional handling of guest accommodations.
When I attempted to raise a complaint, Emery told me to “come outside while I smoke a cigarette” to discuss it, which is entirely inappropriate and unprofessional.
Finally, during a small gathering in the den after quiet hours, which admittedly became a bit loud, Emery addressed the situation by publicly singling out and accusing one individual in front of the entire group, rather than handling the matter discreetly or professionally; she addressed us as a group of kids in a middle school classroom. This was unnecessary, embarrassing, and poorly handled.
While the manager addressed concerns appropriately once involved, guests should not have to endure boundary violations, false accusations, inconsistent information, or public confrontation to receive basic hospitality. For these reasons, I do not recommend this hotel, especially for extended stays.
On top of everything, the Wi-Fi would not work on our phones or computers
