For starters the guy who check me in was not friendly. There was a mask scent when we first walked in the hotel. But as soon as we got down our hall way it smelled like paint. All weekend smelled like paint. Our room not only was the tub sink and floor dirty, the room smelled musky. The breakfast was good, and thankful there was no bed bugs and then the second day that we were there the guy who was attending the desk said he would make sure we got towels. When we got back the ladies didnt even know. Thankfully they were a few doors down and they were able to change them out for me and make the beds, take out the trash. I had to spray my perfume in the room on the bed and pillows and head board just to cover the smell on Saturday in the room. One of the light fixtures wouldnt turn on, the room was over all dim. The A/C wouldnt keep the room cool either.

Started out with an intense smell in the lobby and upstairs hallways. It was overwhelming. Like someone accidentally dumped concentrated cleaner on every surface (and up my nose) seconds before we walked in. It was there during our entire stay. The room did not have that smell, fortunately. That would have been a deal breaker for me.
Overall the room was clean. Smelled fresh - not overly scented. However, as we were getting into bed, I pulled back the covers and noticed old blood stains on the comfort and one of the pillows. I don't have a way to attach a picture, but it was pretty gross.
The next day I noticed that the shower has no water pressure. The toilet was really loud. Shower curtain was ripped. Caulk is peeling. Tub was painted and is also peeling. Wall had water damage. The AC vents straight outside and when it's low/off, you can hear all the outside noises as if it were an open window. The window, however, does not open. The arms of one chair were disgustingly dirty. The other chair creaked horribly when you sat in it. In fact, that was my alarm yesterday - when my husband woke up early, he sat in that chair and it was so loud I was instantly awake.
The blinds blocked out quite a bit of light, though, which is good because the parking lot lights are blinding.
I will say that everyone was very nice and our car was not broken into so that's a plus. Don't think we will go back - or will recommend.

I had an amazing stay at the Best Western Plus McKinney! The service was absolutely top tier. Everyone was so accommodating and made me feel genuinely cared for from check-in to check-out. Patel went above and beyond, answering all of my questions and even introducing me to the best coffee in Texas right in the breakfast area! It did not disappoint! I’ll definitely be staying here again.

Always a great night sleep when I stay here. As a truck driver there is always parking. Nirav has the best customer service. Great hospitality. My smoke detector was beeping and phone weren’t working so I called the front desk and Nirav quickly took care of all the issues. Replaced batteries in smoke detectors and fixed the room phone. Always have a great experience when I stay here.

Our room smelled damp and musty. We asked the front desk about it. But they said it was probably a result of the hot weather. We thought it smelled like dirty socks and very unpleasant. So, my guess is, they desperately need to replace the carpeting. We ran the A/C a lot, but it didn't help at all with the funky smell. We stayed for an entire week and housekeeping never cleaned our room once despite us being gone for hours every day. We actually had to ask the front desk for some clean towels. Additionally, we had to take out our own trash, asking for more trash bags at the front desk. We weren't the only guests to complain about the lack of ANY housekeeping. Guests should not have to beg for a normal cleaning. Obviously, nobody ever checked our room all week. The included breakfast was unimaginative, but it was okay. Here's the real issue though. The coffee machine was broken and out of service for four days! They would occasionally bring out a pot of coffee from the back kitchen. However, it tasted weak, like a bad pot of ground Folgers coffee made from a tin can. The coffee container was often empty and ignored late in the breakfast hours from 6-9am. So, people were not happy about having no coffee and nobody was around to get more for the guests. Fair warning: unlike most Best Western properties, there are NO coffee makes of any kind in the rooms. Insufficient seating and tables on the busier days in the breakfast area also had folks trying to balance plates and cups as they stumbled back to their rooms with their breakfast. The location of the hotel is okay and the desk staff was actually quite friendly. However, you have to wonder. What's up with the poor housekeeping? All guests expect better, especially from someone connected to Best Western.
