I recently had the opportunity to attend a candidate meet-and-greet event in Lubbock, where my husband was a speaker. We stayed at a hotel that proved to be an excellent choice for our visit. First and foremost, the staff at the hotel were exceptionally helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The spacious and impeccably clean room contributed to a comfortable stay, and the snack area provided by the hotel was particularly enjoyed by our seven-year-old daughter. The breakfast buffet offered a commendable selection of food and beverages, which was greatly appreciated. The pool area was clean and well-maintained, a notable achievement given the high volume of families utilizing the pool and hot tub during our stay. Additionally, the managers' reception was a delightful bonus after a long drive, providing us with a chance to unwind. While the hotel is older, it is well-maintained. However, I would recommend considering updates, such as removing the carpet to enhance cleanliness and create a more home-like atmosphere. I also found the heating and cooling system somewhat challenging to adjust for comfort, and it was noisier than expected. Overall, I was pleased with our stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. The outstanding staff—from the bartenders and housekeeping to the front desk, event coordinator, and kitchen personnel—made a significant difference in our experience. Thank you for helping to make our stay an enjoyable experience! Jennifer Matlock Matlock for Railroad Commission

This Hotel gets two stars only because the breakfast was fine and the hotel staff throughout the hotel was kind from the front desk, to the breakfast staff to the room cleaner. With out that it would be a 1. The hotel esthetic is nice but the rooms are terrible. The Bathrooms have mold on the ceiling the furniture is old and dirty. The coach was so old if you sat on it you sank in like quicksand. The Air circulation wasn't the best. The key lock for the doors were janky and you have to constantly scan your card and hold your mouth just right to gain access to your room. And it was multiple rooms. We heard other guest complain about the issue and witnessed multiple people struggling to get into their rooms. This hotel is past due for the rooms to be gutted and updated. For the price they charge this is not up to the Hilton or embassy Standard.

Let me start with the fact there was NO HEAT in the room. There was no heat in any rooms in the hotel. My stay was in late October. When I asked how to turn the heat on in the room with the controls on the wall, I was told “there is no heat currently in our system and would suggest turning it off instead. -Michael”. Seriously, There is a freeze warning tonight in Lubbock. How is there no heat “currently” in your system????There is nowhere on your website that states that the heat isn’t on certain times of the year. I guess the heat is turned on seasonal!!!!! I’ve stayed in a lot of Hilton’s and never have I experienced anything like this. After sending a second chat message to the hotel on the second night about the room being freezing, a very nice young man from maintenance “Braxton”, came to my room and switched over the system to heat! He said he’s done 6 rooms tonight. The Rooms are extremely dated and are in desperate need of updating. The wallpaper is peeling off the walls. The furniture is scratched and very used. There are cracks in the ceiling. Just overall very dated rooms. The toilet paper holder fell off the wall in the bathroom. The alarm clock has two plugs on top that didn’t work. There was hair in my tub. I told all of this to Michael through the chat feature on the hotel website. He did have the toilet paper holder fixed and he had a new clock brought up. My issues were corrected, but I shouldn’t have had to be so cold the first night when they could’ve came up and switched over the heat last night. The public areas are dark but do have a lot of foliage and there is a bar and restaurant, not a lot of food choices but there’s beer and drinks. The parking lot is also very dark.
