Just want to give credit where credit is due. Ires is a gem of an employee and deserves a raise. Not only is she personal-able, working nights is never easy on anyone and she did it with a smile both nights I stayed. Double Tree should be prideful to have her on their team. Please take care of her.

I wouldn't let my worse enemy stay in this dumpster fire. Unclean rooms bed bugs and rude uncaring staff here. Motel 6 is far better then this place.

I truly wish I could give a higher rating for this hotel. Honestly, there are many ways where it’s nice, but where it counts… it isn’t. As far as location goes, it’s near the university (Texas Tech), which is great. There’s an amazing restaurant inside which is totally worth a visit. However, my experience stated at check in. The guy who helped me didn’t seem too interested to give me any important info. I had paid a little extra for the nicest room they offer on the 6th floor. After taking my credit card, I asked for an extra towel and pillow. He disappeared for 10 minutes and never returned. I had no idea where he went. He didn’t give me any directions or even tell me about the hotel. I had to find the elevators, which seemed tough enough. When I got to our room, it smelled like cigarette smoke. But, it was late, so we dealt with it. The room is supposed to be nicer, but it looks pretty beat up. The next morning the shower has less pressure than necessary to shower in. It really makes it tough. A baby sneezing on you will get you more wet. Heh. After a second request for one more pillow and a towel went unanswered, it was a little frustrating. The next day 2 of our keys quit working. We were scheduled to stay for 4 nights. The bathroom doesn’t have a fan, so it literally doesn’t move air at all. Terrible. Then we found the TV remote was missing… it just felt like it was one thing after another. This is just not the same as other Hilton hotels that we frequent. On a positive note, what you can see, not in the rooms is nice. The pool is clean and nit cluttered. The fitness center is one of the better ones in a hotel. Overall, a disappointing experience. Get the cigarette smell out and fix the plumbing, please?! I don’t know that for the high price I paid that I’ll be staying here in the future.

Checked in and the room was not clean. Stains on the bedsheets, bathroom not clean, and towels/rags replaced. Ridiculous! They did change my room after I asked but the room shouldn’t have been dirty.

Terrible hotel design. As I lay here at 11pm, there is loud excessive noise blasting into my 4th floor room. The hotel lobby is open all the way up the entire height of the hotel with the bar and restaurant rocking the entire hotel with all kinds of racket from the people below. All the rooms face the open space, and my room is even tucked around a corner and it’s extremely loud. I’ll never book this place again. Find another hotel! Highly disappointed and very surprised that this isn’t a common complaint. I expect my review will get the same, generic, robotic, meaningless reply the others have gotten. You need to remodel and close off the atrium. Fire the architect that designed this and beg God for forgiveness.
