I stay at the Live Oak Hilton Garden Inn often, and it continues to be my go-to—not just for lodging, but for the people and the experience. The food alone keeps me coming back. Chef Amy consistently delivers meals that rival (and honestly outperform) the surrounding chain restaurants. Rick’s omelets are made to perfection, and Tabari’s steaks are reason enough to choose the hotel restaurant over going elsewhere. What truly sets this location apart is the dedicated service. Crystal and the entire bar team—Tommy, Brian, Edward, and many others—create an atmosphere that’s welcoming, familiar, and relaxed, making every visit feel special. The journey starts at check-in, where Luckey—truly “the voice of the Hilton brand”—along with Jackie, Christopher, and the rest of the front desk team, make you feel less like a guest and more like family. Housekeeping consistently keeps the rooms and common areas fresh, clean, and comfortable. The recent upgrades and changes to the conference center are very noticeable and feel like a welcome modernization compared to the earlier look. This Hilton Garden Inn isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a place people genuinely care about, and it shows in every detail. Highly recommended.

The bathroom was dirty, including the toilet seat! Then, theTV hadn’t been set up, so wasn’t working. The maintenance person came to fix that but the whole thing took about an hour when we just wanted to go to bed after a long day of travel. But the WORST was he told us, “The building has foundation problems-corners were cut and materials used were cheap when it was built. That’s the construction going on. Be careful if you head that way.” Since there were so many large and deep cracks in our room walls and ceilings, I was so scared the whole time we were there that the building was going to collapse. Reception was very nice and helpful- the one bright spot of the stay.

I’m a gordo so this review is about the bar and grill. I’ve stayed at plenty of Garden Inn’s but this one seemed to be lacking on draft beer options yet alone their bottled/canned selection. Food wise the menu was pretty slim but did carry the standard options of a burger, chicken sandwich, pasta and steak option. I chose the wings and pepperoni flat bread. The wings had potential but they’re frozen and not the highest quality. The ranch was Sysco/Ben E Keith bottled stuff and not that good. I’ve had better wings at other Garden Inn’s. The flat bread was interesting, it was round instead of rectangle but wasn’t too terrible. The flatbread/pizza was better than the wings. Typically I prefer to drink and dine at my Garden Inn given its convenience and quality being pretty good but this location leaves a little to be desired. While it sucks to say this, you’re better off walking to 54 street next door for a better selection of beer and higher quality food.
