Coffee maker in the room was broken. The color and decor of the room was terrible. Dookie brown carpet with orange and off white triangles was not pleasing to the eye, and you couldn't escape it, because someone thought that design was so good, they framed the same color and design on walls as art work. Staff was very good except Christmas morning, front desk worker on her cell phone....I said Merry Christmas, she looked up barely got a greeting out, and right back to her cell phone. Rest of the staff was good. Probably wouldn't recommend, but sadly this hotel was better than most around the Katy Mills Mall, I've tried them all....

The staff was very accommodating, including front desk, housekeeping, hand maintenance for being so close to the holidays. Everybody was very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and the hotel is in a great location next to the mall, all in all an excellent stay. We’ve stayed there twice before and never been disappointed.

Over the past years (mainly since Covid), I’ve noticed a decline in how the staff and the hotels are managed day to day. The Holiday Inn in Katy, sets the standard in how a guest, at any level, should be treated. From the moment I enters the lobby, the staff was professional, friendly and engaging. I was greeted with my name and thanked for staying with the hotel. Checking was quick and simple and my room was upgraded because I needed up not having an extra guest with me on this trip. My son and his buddy joined me at dinner in the hotel restaurant and the staff was very accommodating. (I had two 10 year old boys with me, so you can imagine how dinner choices went. lol) My room was exceptionally clean and quiet, despite being located next to elevator. I never heard it. The hotel is very clean and every staff member says hello as they pass you. I can’t speak to the value of the pricing, as I used points for this stay, but this hotel had a comfortable feel and atmosphere for being a smaller property. The back deck area is large and the in for pool is clean and inviting, though I didn’t use it. Parking is directly out front or right by the back entrance, making it safe and well lit. There is endless shopping and entertainment within a quarter mile of the hotel. I truly appreciate this property and will definitely stay here again as I travel to the area. The professional appearance and excellent staff speaks volumes for the culture and the management.
