Very disappointing stay at the Homewood Suites Irving Las Colinas from Jan 30–Feb 2.
At check-in, the front desk mistakenly checked my reservation in under another guest’s name and credit card, then the manager checked us into the same room, creating a serious privacy and security issue. The elevator was out of service for two days, forcing stair use the entire stay.
The building is outdated, smells like mold and cigarettes, and there were earwig bugs in the bathroom coming from a hole in the wall. We were also only given one set of towels for two people.
This was not the quality or professionalism expected from a Hilton property. I would not stay here again.

So far the digital key is hit or miss. Might work might not. Wasn’t told on check in the building I’m in on the third floor has no elevator. Signs says “broken indefinitely” nothing says we care quite so loudly. Parking is atrocious at best. The property is laid out like an apartment complex. Rooms are dated and the tub looks like it was caulked by a three year old. Guessing a future Wyndham.

My usual hotel in this area was sold out so I decided to try this Hilton property. It should not be a Hilton property. It is not at all up to Hilton standards. I have stayed at many Homewood Suite properties that were beautiful and well-kept. This property is OLD, and has a very inconvenient layout among buildings.
I checked in online using a map of the hotel/room locations to choose my room. I like to stay on the higher floors away from the elevator so I chose a corner room on Floor 3 in Building B, which appeared to be convenient to the main building for breakfast, etc. When I arrived via Uber (in the dark) and went to the main building to get directions to my room, I was given a map. Instructions included, "go outside, follow a small sidewalk around the side of building, PAST THE DUMPSTERS, up a couple of steps, and access the stairwell in the next building. I asked how I could get to the building elevator since I was on the 3rd floor and dragging luggage. I was advised that the elevator was out of service in that building (and would be indefinitely), and that I would have to drag everything up three flights of stairs that are open to the outdoors and adjacent to a neighborhood street with no security cameras, etc. The sidewalk was not lit and walking into the dark stairwell was kind of creepy.
The door from the stairwell to the room corridor was supposed to be able to be accessed only via the digital room key, but the door did not shut properly so could be opened by simply pushing on it. As I had selected a room that was in the corner, it was the first one inside the door from the stairwell so I was subjected to the slamming door all hours of the night. Since the corridor could be accessed by any random person and not through any secure lobby, I slept with the deadbolt on and the kitchen chair barricading the door handle.
While the room itself was generally clean, the building is just really old and it shows in the bathroom and just overall layout. The only reason I didn't rate this as 1 star, is the staff (night clerk as well as the daytime desk clerk) were perfectly lovely and helpful.
