The front desk and breakfast staff were really nice people. Unfortunately, there were multiple cockroaches in our room, including one on the sofa bed that was slept on. The fridge and microwave had not been cleaned since previous guests' stay and had very strong odor. The windows were dirty to the point that it was barely possible to see outside. The building itself is very old, even for a HIE, and there are so many better renovated IHG properties for cheaper prices nearby. After telling them about the roaches and dirty fridge, they gave us a whopping 10% discount.

It was great until I got in the bed and pulled the blanket up to my face and it smelt like I stuck my nose in someone’s ARMPIT and the sheets smelled like oily skin. I told the front desk but nothing was done about it. And the bench looked like someone discharged on it. Yuck!

If you are booking this hotel because it advertises free cancellation, do not. That claim is extremely misleading. I attempted to cancel early in the morning of my stay after my flight was diverted multiple times. This was completely out of my control and exactly the kind of situation people book airport hotels for in the first place. I was exhausted, stressed, and trying not to pay for a room I could not physically use. Despite the free cancellation language, I was told it was not allowed unless I canceled the day before. No flexibility. No understanding. No attempt to help. What made this worse was the attitude. Staff hid behind “policy” and were cold and dismissive instead of even acknowledging the situation. Airport travelers are often in vulnerable, high stress situations and this hotel shows zero compassion for that reality. They may technically follow their rules, but the way cancellation is advertised feels deceptive, especially for an airport hotel that knows guests often book under pressure. There are plenty of hotels that handle situations like this with basic decency. This one does not. Book elsewhere unless you enjoy fine print, rigid policies, and being treated like a problem instead of a guest.

To piggyback off of Kayla S, We too stayed in room 251 before reading the previous review on the situation, and there was INDEED bed bugs in that room. We got some pictures of them so I am not sure what kind of “inspection” management did. The latch lock is still broken by the way. Had to wake up at 1 AM and go down to sort the situation out, was offered only 50 percent off the room and had gotten a new room (which was useless to us because we we had to leave 2 hrs later for our flight anyways. Front desk people did the best they could and location is close to airport; however, will never be stepping foot in this establishment again. This is on the management for not listening to their customers the first time and then causing troubles for another customer down the line. I hope y’all finally start taking feedback seriously and I hope to hear from management on a full refund because I have never had such a terrible experience at a hotel in my life.

Do NOT stay at this hotel. Me and some friends needed a place to stay for one night since our flight left early in the morning. Checked in around 6 and were planning to leave around 2 in the morning. While I was trying to sleep i noticed that a bug was near my face. Turns out it was BED BUGS. Woke up my sister and turns out there were bugs in her bed too. Went downstairs to tell the receptionist, he was so rude, basically kept downplaying the entire situation and kept telling us we wouldn’t get a full refund. Instead he offered another room “the best room we have possible”. Why would I want another room if you obviously have some sort of bug infestation. Mind you, this was around 12 in the morning and We had to be up in a hour to go to the airport anyways. We ended up taking the other room, which was smaller than the one we had previously. The place was run down, rooms were cold even after turning on the heat and dark. Forgot to mention that the lock on our door was literally broken. The shuttle to the airport was in horrible condition. Couldn’t even put my seatbelt on due to the seatbelt being stuck. It was dirty, crumbs and stains everywhere. Don’t stay in room 251, the beds have bed bugs…Next time I’ll be staying at the Marriott. Edit: Regardless of the inspection outcome, bugs were present on the bedding during occupancy, which made the room feel unsanitary and unsafe for sleep. I am sharing this experience so other travelers can make an informed decision.
