Kimberly Garcia was very very rude and sarcastic when speaking to me told me to read the sign. I didn't see signs when booking my room. If she doesn't like her job she should go find one she like.

Room was clean. Shower pressure and hot water was good. Breakfast is standard for HIE. Only downside is the hot tub was filled in with concrete... not sure how long ago, as some pictures showed it open and operational.

Stayed here while in town for the World Baseball Classic and it worked well for what I needed. I was looking for a reasonably priced hotel within a reasonable distance to Daikin Park, and this place fit the bill.
Check-in was quick and easy, and check-out was just as smooth. The room was a bit dated, but it was clean and perfectly fine for the stay. The bathroom felt a little musty, and the shower could probably use some work, but nothing that completely ruined the experience.
The hotel seems to have decent amenities, although I didn’t end up using them during my stay. My only other real negative was the breakfast, which unfortunately did not taste very good.
Overall, this was a solid option for the price and location, and I’d consider staying here again if I needed an affordable place near the ballpark.

Day trip turned nightmare in Houston.
For my sister’s 56th birthday we decided to take a quick trip to Houston. She’s a travel agent and booked us a suite at the Holiday Inn Houston Intercontinental Airport, a place she had stayed at several times before. The hotel itself looked clean and the room seemed fine when we checked in around 4 PM, although they initially couldn’t even locate our reservation.
There were four of us in the suite. Because of rain delays we didn’t leave the hotel until around 9 PM. One person returned around midnight and the rest of us came back around 3 AM after the time change. We entered through the back door because the front desk told us at check-in that the front doors lock at midnight.
When we called the front desk to ask about a late checkout we were immediately told no because the hotel was “fully booked.” The next morning we asked again in person and were told the same thing. That was unusual since most hotels at least suggest asking again in the morning.
At 12:05 PM there was a knock on our door — not from housekeeping but from the front desk. No housekeeping carts were anywhere near our room, which felt strange. We finished gathering our belongings and left through the same back door we came in through earlier.
About 10 minutes later my friend received a text saying $200 had been charged to her card for smoking in the room. None of us smoked in that room. When we returned to the hotel to question the charge, the front desk employee had a very hostile attitude and said not only that we smoked but that we had damaged the room and left blood everywhere.
The only “proof” shown to us was a picture of a couple of small spots on a white duvet that did not resemble blood at all. The situation escalated quickly and instead of arguing further, we left and decided to take the issue up with InterContinental Hotels Group corporate.
This experience completely ruined what was supposed to be a birthday celebration. I’ve stayed in many hotels and have never experienced accusations like this or such poor handling by staff. Travelers should be aware and document their rooms when staying here.
