Shittiest service ever! room had a broken flush toilet bartender acts like I’m asking him for a favor every time I ask for something. Spa is not open for guest and apparently is not own by hotel so you need a reservation in advance to use a sauna there is literally empty. Spa attendant approach u like a freaking policy who is overusing her authority btw what authority? Exactly, this place was supposed to be a relaxation but I’ll be living it more stress than I was before ever stepping foot in it. What my advice? Just go to the 4 seasons.
Everything in this hotel is wonderful, and the service is generally of a very high standard - except for housekeeping. They are extremely loud in the corridors from 10 a.m. all day long, talking to each other very loudly, singing, and slamming doors. On top of that, I always leave tips, but even that doesn’t seem to improve their service. They don’t leave the vanity kit or water, and they’re too lazy to arrange the pillows properly. Definitely, they need more training.
The Post Oak Hotel does not meet the standards of a five-star or five-diamond property. While the décor is attractive, the overall experience falls significantly short. I would strongly advise against hosting any special event at this establishment.
We hosted a baby shower at Bloom & Bee, located within The Post Oak Hotel, and the experience was extremely disappointing. Although the food itself was satisfactory, the level of service was notably poor and inconsistent with the hotel’s claimed Forbes and AAA ratings. Our party of eight was repeatedly required to seek out staff for basic needs, including water refills, beverage orders, general inquiries, and payment. The assigned server was frequently absent, and when present, demonstrated a lack of professionalism and engagement. Drink orders were delayed, requests were overlooked, and food service was excessively slow, with no communication or explanation provided. As guests, we were effectively left to manage our own service while paying premium prices.
The most concerning incident occurred with the valet service. My Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon was misplaced for over an hour. I had to stand as a pregnant woman for over an hour while waiting. During this time, valet staff appeared disorganized and unable to provide accurate information. Alarmingly, other similar vehicles were brought forward in an apparent attempt to present them as mine. This conduct goes beyond a simple oversight and raises serious concerns regarding vehicle handling and guest safety.
Additionally, retrieving my own vehicle was unnecessarily difficult. My friends car was parked away from the hotel entrance, and she was instructed to walk to retrieve it rather than having it brought forward. This required unnecessary discussion to resolve and further reflected the lack of coordination and professionalism.
Overall, the experience was stressful, disorganized, and far below the expectations of a luxury property. Any claim to five-star service is not supported by the level of hospitality provided. I strongly recommend that prospective guests and event hosts consider alternative venues.
As a Houstonian who genuinely enjoys many of our city’s great spots—and as someone who has stayed at real 5-star hotels around the world (Dubai, Singapore, and more)—I don’t write reviews like this lightly. The Post Oak is the most insulting, overpriced, under-served “luxury” experience EVER!
Our group of 5 ladies ended up at the H-Bar for a friend’s birthday because the birthday girl wanted to go there. We spent a significant amount of money, at the bar and while awaiting valet started taking a few normal photos on my phone. Five minutes later, security came over and ordered us out for taking “too many pictures.” He said: “We need you all to leave! Just leave! The pictures are enough.” He said “orders came from above” and cited a “photography policy.” This was around 1:00 AM on a Sunday—not a crowded daytime lobby, not a private event, not professional photography—just paying guests taking quick birthday pics with their phone.
We were walked out like we’d done something wrong, embarrassed and humiliated. It was hostile, unnecessary, and it completely tarnished what should’ve been a joyful memory. I felt awful for the birthday girl—and honestly, upset that a place claiming to be luxury would treat guests with such blatant disrespect.
The Post Oak advertises itself as Texas’ only Forbes Five-Star Hotel and Spa and Houston’s only AAA Five-Diamond hotel. Based on guest treatment alone, that claim is a huge joke —pure marketing delusion. Luxury isn’t marble and chandeliers; it’s service, discretion, and hospitality. This was none of that. It was more like a 1-star experience—actually worse—because even basic establishments understand respect and hospitality.
Do not waste your money. Take your joy (and your dollars) somewhere that actually deserves it. We’re done—for good.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience here was beyond unacceptable. The customer service was terrible, and I feel this place cannot be trusted.
While a staff member was delivering ice and water to my room, my very expensive watch was sitting on the counter right next to where the ice bucket was placed. Moments later, my watch was gone. I immediately reported it, but the hotel refused to take responsibility, offered no real help, and made no effort to reimburse me for the loss.
This situation was extremely disappointing and concerning. Guests should feel safe leaving their belongings in their own room, and that clearly was not the case here.
Because of how poorly this was handled, I would never recommend staying here and will absolutely never return
