i have travelled to more than 30 countries and stayed in countless hotels, but i have never experienced anything as shocking and unprofessional as this.
i prepaid my reservation in full through agoda, received my confirmation, checked in normally, and yet this hotel decided to randomly charge my card 61.46 usd at 3–4am while i was asleep in my room. no explanation, no receipt, no notice.
just an unauthorized charge in the middle of the night.
this is not a “mistake” this is borderline theft.
when i asked the hotel about it, all they did was blame agoda and claim that they “didn’t receive the payment,” even though i literally sent them my official agoda confirmation email. i don’t understand how that’s suddenly my problem to fix. the hotel is listed on agoda. i booked through agoda. i paid agoda. how is a guest supposed to solve a payment issue between the hotel and the platform?
and still, they completely ignored my question about the unauthorized 61.46 usd charge. no explanation, no apology, nothing.
on top of that, they still haven’t released my deposit, even though i checked out days ago. now both the deposit and their mysterious midnight charge are stuck on my card because they didn’t process anything properly.
this hotel made my trip incredibly stressful, and i’m still wasting my time trying to get my own money back.
if you value your peace of mind, do not stay here.

Cleanest and most well-organized Holiday Inn I've stayed at in Houston. Fairly new and very well-managed; I would recommend!
Front desk was so helpful, got me a
Toothbrush because forgot mine. Room was extremely clean and comfortable. Bathroom was immaculate. The General Manager Kerry Boyd was quick as lightning when we needed new keys due to the old ones not working. I mean greeted us, listened to us, then bing bang boom two keys and with such stellar customer service. We will be back. Breakfast was top notch compared to equivalent hotel breakfasts. Love this Holiday Inn.
This Holiday Inn Express in Houston is a great hotel for short or long stays. Worthy of a detailed review because this hotel deserves much better than the review star average it has. Every staff member I encountered was really friendly.
Quiet, seriously quiet, even next to I-10/Katy Fwy. Welcoming, helpful check-in on Thursday afternoon Oct 16. Didn’t get his name for special shout out.
Beds- omg-level comfy. Large, clean king room and bathroom. Quiet, even in the hall. Quality hand soap, body lotion, body wash, shampoo & conditioners in dispensers. Fluffy towels. Love the side lighted mirrors in the HI bathrooms!! And body length mirror is a great amenity.
Kuerig coffee maker, just add water. Microwave and fridge big enough for plenty food and beverages.
And the Breakfast by Brooke, she’s awesome. Hot breakfast buffet with ready-to-eat egg white omelette, scrambled eggs, roasty potatoes, turkey or pork sausage and Southerners fav biscuits & sausage gravy. Oatmeal, granola and cereal options. Pancake maker, warm cinnamon rolls and lots of bread types for toasting. Bananas & oranges. Cold options like Oikos yogurt, boiled eggs.
The best instant serve machine coffee I’ve had at a hotel.
Comfy, large dining area also has work stations. I’d prefer higher chair at the high top tables but I get the laptop eye height choice. Choice of TV news on 2 TVs. Appreciated the option.
Pool is clean, it may need touch up painting in a few places but pool is clean. Gym is small but no excuse functional.
Parking is free, open lot flooded with light.
Super convenient location, a longer walk to Memorial Park but doable.
For the price and amenities— a very good value.
