This aquarium is extremely disappointing as it compares to its sister property in Denver. The aquarium is smaller and you get through it pretty quick. It is clean and modern and they have rides outside to make the aquarium more of a small amusement park, but the rides doesn’t offset the lack of exhibits and in my opinion not worth the money. It’s best to buy this attraction as part of the city pass or if you have discounts. Their parking is easy to access but can be confusing if you need to pre-pay or not, so make sure you don’t pay for parking until you are about to leave as it says on the ticket and not what posted signs say. Once you pay you have 15 minutes to leave the lot.

We absolutely love delivering cakes to the Downtown Houston Aqaurium! Their ballroom is absolutely gorgeous- after which we ( husband and I) sit and enjoy a meal at their restaurant ( i love seafood- especially lobster bisque) and my personal favorite is watching all the sea life in their aquariums. They also have clients order the most amazing cake orders - like this sea turtle cake, our bakery made.. it is never boring or ordinary collaborating with the aquarium!

Minus the tigers, this is about as exhilarating as going to your neighbors salt water fish tank. For a city zoo and the ticket price, I expected penguins, sharks larger than my foot, otters or seals. Yes you can see sharks if you purchase an additional ticket for the train. But sharks should be included in an aquarium. Their coral reef could’ve also used more bright colored fish. Also no touch tanks. This is the smallest aquarium I’ve ever been to, and that’s comparing it to small town aquariums in other states. Wouldn’t recommend the trip and fee for parking. The restaurant probably has more fish to see than the entire aquarium.

Very disappinting... I was expecting a fun ( preety big) aquarium/amusement park. This park could be fun- if you are 3 years old. This thing is ridiculous. I wasted so much moeny on tickets for this thing. The aquarium itself is very tiny and it only took me 15 minutes to go around. The tanks were like going to an aquarium to see guppies. Again. And again. And again.... the same grey small classic riverfish in almost every enclosure. The acual interesting part were the tigers. But I was to discusted by thier environment to accualy enjoy it. These 4 poor beutiful creatures are living in an indoor plastic small decorated enclosure suffering with constant annoying temple music around them. Not surprizing to jear that they only feed the sharks 3 times a week as well. This is animal misery. There wasnt even anyone else there. Even the gift shop was small and super expensive. The rides were all either baby rides, or closed, and even the open rides looked like they were under construction, and the staff were hanging with friends using thier phones instead of monitoring the rides. The place was so empty - I was the only person there, and it was kind of creepy. I thought that the whole aquarium was 3 stories tall, but no. The whole 2nd and 3rd floor is for thier restaurant ( completly empty) and thier bar and ballroom ( probobly empty too) Dont ask why you need a ballroom for an aquarium... I thought that the shark train ride would be cool, but the train is a little kids size, and you only spend 2 minutes with real sharks. After that, you just spend the rest of the time looking at a beutiful ( not really) plastic shark and you pass through a not so wonderful parking lot...
