Fridge not functioning correctly would not get cold, my food spoiled. Micro was hard to close same w dishwasher but bottom line they worked. Valet parking staff was kinda rude, told us we could not park in front on the hotel to unpack! This is an extended stay, like a mini apt hotel room we had groceries, luggage, little kid, etc. Then they told me my truck would not fit on their garage and that i had to park on the back of the garage aka employee parking lot at the end of the block very sketchy and dark, for the same price of gate protected selfparking on the garage, insane. Talk about inconvenience! Come to find out there were taller vehicles in that garage raised suspension trucks and jeeps! Guest greeters at door were too busy talking among themselves to greet, some of us.The price of this hotel was bc of the location not bc of the service and amenities. Pool was dirty w lime, pool chairs broken, no towels. Room had stains on rugs I was expecting alot better for a "4 star hotel" I didn't find the 3rd nor the 4th start anywhere. Lobby looks nice but that's it. I didn't even go to the galleria bc I was so over the whole experience but it was too late to cancel. I would say try somewhere else if you want to stay at a nice place. This is the same as any hotel on the expressway but w a balcony. I'm a Hilton honors member and was so disappointed.

I had an amazing stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Houston Galleria, and I want to give a special shoutout to Ginita at the front desk. She truly went above and beyond to make my birthday feel special and surprised me with a room upgrade. Her kindness, professionalism, and warm attitude made me feel genuinely valued as a guest.
The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and perfectly located near the Galleria. And of course, you can’t forget the famous warm DoubleTree cookies at check-in, such a simple touch, but it really makes you feel welcomed and sets the tone for the stay.
Thank you, Ginita, and thank you DoubleTree for such a wonderful experience. I will definitely be back!

I probably won’t ever stay here again and I travel to Houston a lot. I wasn’t warned until check-in that they would be shutting off the water from 9pm-6am during my stay- so no toilets or showers except on the first floor overnight. Housekeeping knocked on my door 3x from 8am-11am to clean the room day of checkout even after I told them I wouldn’t be checking out until 11am. They also charged the wrong CC for my stay and were not helpful in getting this corrected. The bedding and carpets in the room also had visible stains.

Stayed here for New Year’s Eve night this week and booked the King bed Suite, one of their better room offerings. Air conditioning was broken in the first room so we had to switch rooms, an inconvenience but not a huge deal. No complaints with the service. Location is great in uptown.
My HUGE complaint: The morning after we woke up we saw FOUR roaches in our King Suite at various sizes(2 baby, 1 midsize, 1 adult). I have never seen a roach in a hotel, let alone 4 roaches in a single room, let alone in a decently rated 3-4 star hotel. It was embarrassing for my partner and I to experience this and at some level was concerning for our health as well.
This ruined the experience for us. We told the front desk immediately and were given 10k Hilton points. This does not come close to the $200+ we spent for the night.
A bit of a traumatizing experience but for the most part I usually like Hiltons.

This hotel needs a total upgrade. The lobby is the best thing about this hotel. We checked on and front desk staff was pleasant but once you get on the elevator it's another story. We got off on our original floor (16) and when the doors opened it smelled like someone has taken a crap in the hallway it was horrible the carpet is nasty looking and very undesirable. Our 1st room was right outside the elevator the windows were dirty, the odor in the room was unacceptable it was just a big NO! So my husbae called down to get a room change. Room #2 really wasn't any better the only thing that made this room tolerable was there was no smell in the room but getting off the elevator had the same effect as the previous. Room #2 has chipping paint, the shower curtain was dirty, it appeared to be mold on the ceiling of the shower, the bathroom counter has previously been broken and you can visibly see chalking from failed repairs as the counter shifts up under the weigh of touch or items being placed on it. The carpet was dirty, the TV stand dirty. The room outdated. Just definitely NOT up to standards. The walls super thin, we could hear ppl yelling in the hall and kids crying in the room next door. We booked this hotel for location and the fact that there was a restaurant within the hotel. The front desk gave a wonderful spill regarding the resturant but failed to tell us that the restaurant was closed which sucked horribly because we did not have a backup plan regarding dinner. Overall this was a horrible experience, I'm usually a DoubleTree girly when traveling and this experience will definitely cause pause when booking any future trips. Other than location this is a 0 stars would NOT recommend experience
