Stayed there over the weekend, first time to Houston and I was recommended this area from my best friend. Such a charming hotel and more bang for my buck than I expected. The food, the pantry in the lobby full of snacks for guests, and the reliable housekeeping. Just awesome!! I must add that Mark and Lola greeted me so well and took such great care of me. I had such a great conversation being in from NYC. They gave me beautiful advice on the culture of Houston and the southern hospitality was in abundance. I will return next time I travel.

I stayed here for 3 nights. The room was spacious and well-equipped. The hotel is located on the main road. I checked out on November 6th, and as of now (November 12th), my deposit has not been refunded. I've called the front desk twice, and they said it would be refunded soon, but it still hasn't been refunded. I stayed in room 805, booked through Agoda. Please refund my deposit (USD 150) immediately.

Comfortable bed , decent size restroom and room. Not sure when Housekeepimg is but they did not clean our rooms for 2 days, even if we had the sign on the door . Someone did come knocking at around 6pm asking if we needed a cleaning ??? very unprofessional. I will say we were greeted very nicely and felt very welcomed. But also very dissapointed in TV amenities, No smart tv in our room ?? No streaming services. Never experienced that in a hotel so if you just want to relax in your room there isn’t really anything to watch if you unless you want to click through channels .

It was really bad experience because I was tired to stay at the hotel late at night I got charged twice after I paid through Booking Online and I checked in but I got charged again by my bank for the second time from the hotel I asked the reception why I got charged the second time she said she didn't know tell me to ask other staff in the morning. And I didn't have time to ask anyone in the morning , I tried calling and texting them, no one picked up the phone and replied to my texts. The soundproofing in the room was not good because I wanted to wake up at 9 am but I had to wake up same time with the room next to me at 5 am. I was really tired that day.

We stayed at the Crowne Plaza Houston from October 24–27, and while the staff provided outstanding customer service, the cleanliness and maintenance of the rooms left much to be desired. On my first night, I discovered a pair of old, dirty, crusty socks on the side of the refrigerator, which made me question how thoroughly the room had been cleaned. The fridge itself looked like something from a college dorm—small, dated, and oddly placed right outside the bathroom door. It was inconvenient and even unsafe, as the bathroom door could easily swing open and hit someone reaching into the fridge. When I called Guest Services and spoke to Lola, the Front Desk Manager, she was incredibly kind, professional, and genuinely appalled when I sent her photos. She moved me to another room right away, and I truly appreciated her concern and responsiveness. Unfortunately, the **second room (Room 1811) wasn’t much better. The couch was stained and discolored, and when I checked the bed, I noticed spots on the sheets and even inside the duvet. I reached out again, and Nikki, who was also working the front desk that evening, was equally courteous and apologetic. She asked for photos and invited me to come to the front so she and Lola could assist. Once again, Lola was extremely apologetic and accommodated me with another room. Thankfully, this third room was much better, and I appreciated how both women handled everything with genuine empathy and professionalism and I want to express sincere gratitude to both Lola and Nikki they went above and beyond to make me feel heard, respected, and appreciated. Their customer service was easily the highlight of my stay! That said, there are several areas the hotel needs to address: *The $25 nightly parking fee is excessive, especially with the parking lot under renovation. A temporary discount would have been reasonable. * In Room 1501 (my third room), the toilet paper holder was loose and nearly falling off, and the thermostat was very old, with manual knobs and a metal switch. *Guests should be able to adjust the temperature year-round. The heating situation was uncomfortable and we were told the building’s heat wouldn’t be turned on until the “winter months,” yet it was already cold at night in October. We ended up running the shower’s hot water to create steam just to warm the room. * The breakfast was disappointing for $19 per person; it resembled a basic continental breakfast, not the quality one would expect from a Crowne Plaza. * Lastly, I strongly recommend the hotel replace fabric sofas with leather or vinyl. Fabric seating retains stains and bacteria and can be a breeding ground for bedbugs—definitely not ideal for guest comfort. Overall: The staff deserves five stars, but the rooms, cleanliness, and amenities fall short of the Crowne Plaza brand. The property clearly needs updates, better housekeeping. If it hadn’t been for Lola and Nikki’s kindness and professionalism, I likely would have checked out early. They truly salvaged what could have been a completely negative experience, and for that, I’m grateful.
