The staff was friendly during check-in, but upon opening the door to my non-smoking room, it smelled like cigarette smoke, felt musty, and there were roaches. The sofa bed was so dirty and uncomfortable I sent my son downstairs to ask for a pillow and extra blankets and they stated that they didn’t have any blankets and only gave him one pillow we decided to go to dinner, and return later. Upon returning to my room, I just couldn't stay there anymore—not even for one night. The smell of the room and the fact that there were roaches in the A/C unit and walls made me check out immediately. Furthermore, the parking lot didn't feel safe at all. When I checked out, I asked for a receipt or a paper confirmation of my checkout, but they refused and told me they would email me one. I still have not received anything. I was very disappointed with this hotel experience."

Apparently blindly selecting the room by the lowest cost for rewards point is not the best strategy.
The moment I walked into the hotel , I thought that it smelled like Marijuana. The smell persisted all through the hotel, especially on the third floor, which was where my room was. I wasn't aware that Texas had either medical Marijuana or Recreational Marijuana so for an establish to allow itself to be openly permitting an opium den, it seemed quite off to me. I went to my room and immediately locked the door, and upon locking it I noticed that someone had jammed a paper towel into the security peep hole, presumably to prevent people from peering in. I immediately went in, buckled down for the night and locked the deadbolt.
The room itself was ice cold, the A/C was set to 16 degrees celsius and had been running, presumably to prevent the smell from the hallway from drifting in. Whenever I toned that A/C down, the stench of the opium den crept back in.
Things were grimy, like the door, and parts of the bathroom. (Like where water had been hitting the wall because the shower curtain wasn't long enough). I saw one tiny roach climbing up the wall after I showered and I squished it.
The pool was closed, and the windows were clouded, and the sign that was on the pool door appeared to be "closed by order of the city" not just "temporarily closed".
In the morning, a fight broke out in a room right near the elevator, a woman was loudly yelling at some men. The only words I heard were
Her: "YOU ARE SMOKING CRACK IN HERE???!!!"
Him (he knew he was in trouble and was barely coherent) : "We found it in your pocket"
I was unloading my stuff and near the elevator and I had two loads worth. The screaming was right next to the elevator. It went on for at least 10 minutes because I went down to my car, put my first load in, and came back up the elevator and they were still at it. I went to my room and got the rest of my stuff. I chose to go down the stairwell so I didn't have to go near the fighting. In the stairwell it smelled like wet, musty mold, there was garbage, and burn marks on the carpet, and at the bottom was a pile of trash from rooms like a chair and a flat screen.
0/10 stars , would NOT recommend

I checked in today have a room on third floor and I have nothing bad to say about this place at all. It all depends what’s happening that you’re used to being around and how friendly you are. I personally believe every hotel is gonna have some type of issue the only thing I will say is the pool is out of service, but I love how it has a kitchen. I love how they have the towels. Everything was stocked they even offered me water when I got there. And although the shuttle buses are not working at the moment, they are accommodating you for that price so you still get it back friendly service they were very helpful and there is no roaches at all in my room. I haven’t seen one. I’ve been here over 10 hours.

Impossible to find especially late at night and you don't know the area, we went around the block three times. The next issue is they require a deposit, which I was supposed to be refunded within a week of checking out, but I still haven't received it, so now I have to call IHG corporate. Their so-called cupboard was essentially barely. The water in the room ran cold at 1:30 am no less! So in the morning we had to lug all our stuff to a new room. The ADVERTISED indoor pool was closed. Half the laundry machines were out of order. Then at 9 am on checkout day I got kicked off the internet, despite check out time being 10 am. So I lost my chance to make close to $100 by picking up a shift for later in the week at Amazon, which needed to be done at 9:15. All of these issues will be brought up when I contact corporate. I will never stay at another IHG property unless I'm compensated.

Stayed here for one night awaiting to pick up someone from the hospital the next day. The area is sketchy, not a very good or safe location. After checking in the elevator smelled of weed. Rooms were less than average. The worst part is the next morning walking out to my truck and found it had been broke into. A window was smashed. They knew vehicles had been vandalized. Then when we asked about at least trying to vacuum all the glass and getting a garbage bag they said they didn’t have any tape we would need to go to a store and get some. After some time they did get maintenance to tape the window. The bag ripped halfway home and had to stop at a truck stop and had someone nice enough to help. 10/10 so not recommend this hotel. Save yourself some trouble. Pay a few $ more and book somewhere closer to the hospitals with secure parking or garages.
