    This Holiday Inn isn't for people 55 and older, when we were in our room a teenage boy next door was screaming at his mother on the 7th floor balcony down at the 1st level at 1:30 AM, eventually had to call the front desk. Saturday all day loud music playing at the pool, we can hear it 7 floors up. Right in front of the hotel four lanes of busy traffic, loud motorcycles going up and down the street at all hours, screaming kids. The most concerning thing, no cross walk from the hotel to the beach, why haven't Galveston put on a walking zone for people to cross safely. Like I said for 55 and older this hotel sucks, If your young parents with young kids you'd love it

    Never again! Watch your credit card!! I was billed $148 extra after I left and after I had my receipt. I was told it was because I left a day early, which I told them at check-in, and was also charged a $60 fee for the change (that was on my receipt). It isn't supposed to be both and that is written in plain English. They won't fix it, they won't send me an updated receipt, and the hotel staff blew me off so I'll have to dispute the charges. UPDATE: Rather than call or email me from the info on my reservation, the GM posts here, which looks like the standard response to negative reviews. OK... I still have no UPDATE receipt showing the additional $148, no credit, and the best part is the entire stay has now been deleted from "My Stays". Maybe they think if it disappears it didn't happen. Maybe someone pocketed my $148?? I don't know.

    Made my wife and me set in lobby for 6.5 hours because we would pay $70.00 early check in we got there at 10:30am also we for king bed with a ocean view ,we got double queen with a pool view it comes with live bad that plays till 1am. My answer was that's all available, even though I paid in advance for king. People checked in all day some with Resivations some with out . We asked a few and they Paid early check in and received King bed. I'm a disabled Veteran. I asked MIKE THRU OUT DAY IF A ROOM WAS READY . SHAME ON YOU MIKE. We came down on flight from Nashville. If this is Standard for Galveston we not come down for Cruise again. Robert Williams.

    They do not disclose a MANDATORY parking fee and resort fee, while not crazy at $25, does make a difference when pricing these places. But really it came to finding a roach in the bathroom, the air conditioner being super loud and the walls having no insulation so we could hear people walking by and next door. They also don't allow cruise parking if you use points. And there's no breakfast So they replied a day later My reply to their reply is in - - I wish Google would let you reply directly. I would like to know some specific information you mentioned: They do not disclose a MANDATORY parking fee and resort fee, (was the parking fee, $15 and amenity fee ,$8 not disclosed on the pre stay email you should have received)? -No I cannot find that in any email I received. If you would like I can screen shot all my confirmation emails and post them here - But really it came to finding a roach in the bathroom, the air conditioner being super loud (was this brough to the attention of my front desk, and hskp so we could take action)? -What are you going to do at that point? Fumigate the hotel? I just wanted to get through check out and be on my way. - They also don't allow cruise parking if you use points (Who did you speak with as if booking through IHG.com, money spent would translate to points) -We called the hotel and they explicitly said we would not be able to, if fact they tried to get us to rebook without using points and then we would be able to use cruise parking/shuttle. It was a few hundred dollars over budget so we opted not to go that route. - And there's no breakfast (we hare a full service resort with a three meal restaurant. Was breakfast not open at 630am? -There was not a complimentary breakfast and honestly if I'm paying a "resort fee" if think there would be-

    I booked this hotel on the 04/02/2026 at 21h00 in my home for my travel on the 06/02/26. When I arrived at the hotel on the 06/02/26. I was informed that my booking was for the 04/02/2026. I had clicked on the correct date, when I made this booking. For some reason unknown to myself the date has changed to the same day, as I made the booking. When I arrived at the hotel, I was told, since I was a no show and I forfeit any privileges. So I forfeit the money that I had paid and I have to book another hotel in order to stay. My phone call to representative for the hotel was disconnected, after I had hold on for more than 90 min. My letter to management was dismissed. So I lost the money that was paid in advance for the stay. I am shocked by this attitude of the hotel management.
