When I reserved our room online I paid the room in full since it was a non refundable rate ( 1 week before). When we checked in the employee advised us the room was not paid. I proceeded to show him my online banking where the Hilton charge was posted but he was not helpful and actually rude about it. I requested to speak to a manager and he said there was no manager on duty. We ended up paying double for our stay.

So I came on a Sunday at approx 12:45pm and the young blond girl in the back of this photo claims to tell me that there are no rooms available and that it would be about an hour. I purposely sat in front so that these two young ladies would see me. One hour passed and all they were doing was on their phone. Checkout is at noon and you can’t tell me that the housekeepers don’t start cleaning early that there wasn’t at least one room ready by 1:30pm. I went ahead and cancelled my reservation and went to Aloft in McAllen. Disappointed that I was there on business from Dallas—a Diamond Member and a Corporate client. These young ladies probably won’t be there in about 6 months from now. They were so young they could have not been older than 20. I used to stay here a long time ago but noticed that the service has been declining. No one greets you much less makes you feel welcomed.
I get it—check in is at 3pm but I also was very jet lagged from catching an early flight and with everything going on with federal shutdown and airports cancelling flights—-I was hoping to get a little bit of Diamond status, corporate client service.
Also, they must not get paid well to be on their phones and not even pay attention if there was a room cleaned to put me in.

My boyfriend and I stayed there last night and spoke to the kindest employee Nathan. He was able to answer all of our questions and concerns and made us feel welcomed. I was worried to come off as a bother but Nathan was incredible. I would recommend this hotel to all of my friends and family 10/10
