- B8browndog 841 day ago3.0We stayed at the Duncanville Best Western. On the day we arrived we payed our early check in and the first night was fine, but the next day a storm came in causing the electricity to go out. The hotel did not have a back up generator so the whole night we spent it in the Texas heat. The room was very hot and the next day we were not able to shower, because the bathroom was dark. We had to go shower at my sisters house. When we got ready to leave the elevators we still out and we had to carry our luggage from the 3rd floor. I had my 75 and 80 year old Aunts with because we were visiting my sister that is ill. No one offered to help and on top of all this they didn't even offer any kind of compensation for our troubles. They need to have some kind of protocol in place and train the staff to be mindful of the guest and the situation.

Also, the water was backing up in the tub since it was going down slowly. There was black stuff floating in the water, which was so disgusting. I mentioned this to the front desk and there was no offer to change rooms or come in to see what was wrong. I wore my flip flops in the tub, however, that did nothing since the water came above my ankles. I could not wait to leave.
