- BMBobby MickNov 6, 20252.0I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Dallas and had a very disappointing experience with the manager, Gene Trevino. I had stayed one night and hid my money in the coffee pot for safekeeping. Unfortunately, I forgot it when I checked out. When I returned 2 days later and explained the situation, Mr. Trevino did take me up to the room, but since someone else was staying there, we had to wait until 11 a.m. for them to check out. He assured me that his cleaning staff cleans very thoroughly and that the money surely would have been found. He also made several unprofessional comments, including telling me how “irresponsible” I was for leaving money behind and that “$160 isn’t a lot of money” to him. Where I come from, every dollar is hard-earned, and I found those remarks extremely disrespectful. When we finally went back to the room, I opened the coffee pot—and there was my money, exactly where I left it. That clearly shows the room had not been cleaned as thoroughly as he claimed. Between the unprofessional attitude and poor housekeeping standards, I will not be staying at this hotel again. Management needs serious improvement in both professionalism and customer care.

Additionally, the location proved to be quite convenient, as there were numerous dining options within just a short walk from the hotel. Overall, my stay at this Holiday Inn Express has been an exceptional experience, and I look forward to returning in the future.
