SCAM!!!!! I called 24+ hours prior to my reservation to ask about cancelation due to my flight being affected by govt shutdown. I was told my reservation couldn’t be canceled, which made sense, as I tried to cancel prior to calling and could not. Oh well right? Suddenly, my reservation was canceled anyways (after being told it was impossible to cancel on either end) and I was still charged nearly $300. Non-refundable rooms are nothing new, but don’t lie to customers that it’s impossible to cancel a reservation, cancel it anyways, and still charge them. Now they have two payments on one room. Just gross

The person at the front desk was nice. My room was clean. That's why I gave it two stars. Now for the reasons the other three are not earned: only about half of the TV channels actually work. The ones that don't work are "audio only". I went back down to the front desk to mention to them that a bunch of the channels aren't working and they tell me that's just the way it is. The excuse they gave was for people that are blind. I'm not sure why blind people need to have the screen black when they are watching TV, but that is how all the TVs are in the entire hotel even the ones in the lobby. The second reason I'm withholding stars is the air conditioner only goes down to 66. I prefer to sleep when it's colder. I set my a/c in my bedroom at my house at 62 when I sleep and do the same when I stay in hotels. I've never stayed in a room that limited the A/c to 66. Now back to the television: besides missing out on a bunch of channels that I normally watch (I didn't go through all of them but I know that comedy central, sci-fi and at least three or four others as I was scrolling through don't work) the actual size of the television is really small. Without putting a measuring tape on it I would guess somewhere around 27 or 30 inches. This has been the first hour of my 2-day stay.

The reason I gave the location such a low star is because there is terrible theft in this area. I live nearby and I have stayed at these hotels when I lost electricity to my home and I had my vehicle completely stolen right out from the parking lot, multiple people told me do not stay there. It is known for high theft, right off of I 30. I just wanted to let people know! I have a friend that lives in the neighborhood back behind these hotels, he has dealt with a lot of theft as well.

If you like small TVs and old world cable this is the place for you! Last week I booked a 4 night stay at the Holiday Inn on Bass Pro drive and the TV doesn't work with streaming devices. I checked out the next morning and booked the remaining time at the Holiday Inn in Mesquite the TV had a blue tune to it. They changed my room immediately. Booked 4 nights at this hotel and tried to hook my streaming device in and nothing. Went to the front desk and they asked if it was a small or large TV and of course it is small. Small TVs at this location does not support streaming devices. Go figure! They told me they are booked and wanted to know if they could move me tomorrow. Man I think the Hilton is calling my name

Young Indian lady at the front desk (I’m also an Indian woman) with long hair was extremely classless (ill-mannered). I came here to pick up a visiting friend for church on Sunday, waiting in the lobby (btw, I’m well-maintained and polite). I asked her if there is coffee while I waited for my guest to come down. After she confirmed she was making the coffee, she proceeded to ask me, “Do you have a room here?”. When I told her I was waiting for a friend (to take her to church), she gave me a weird/*condescending*/contorted facial expression. Needless to say, I felt like she was profiling me OR thought she had a right to act this way towards me (?). When I confronted her, she tried to say, “Oh, sorry, it’s not like that…” but I felt very unwelcomed and uncomfortable. I can understand if I walked in dirty or causing a scene (rambunctious) it could raise concerns, but her judgemental question/tone/attitude was unfounded.
