We’ve been to this hotel every year for the same event because of the location. After this stay for NYE, we’ve all agreed to book a different hotel the next time.
Our arrival was fine, staff were nice and parking setup was good. The problems arose with the room. I’m not sure what the maintenance budget is, but it’s not enough.
The room was swelteringly hot for the entire 4 days we stayed. The air in our room didn’t work at all. No matter what temperature we set it to, it only blew hot air.
The day we arrived, someone came to check on it and told us it was fixed. We went to dinner and returned, it was still blowing heat. We called again in the morning and were told it was being worked on. It was to the point that I had to go down to the desk and try to express how miserable it was.
The manager, I assume, overheard us and came over to explain they were waiting on a part. They didn’t offer compensation or anything. I had to ask for our stay to be comped, and even then they only offered 50%. He had even mentioned to us that someone else had slept in their car because their room was too hot.
It also wasn’t the only problem. The floors everywhere were dirty and stained. The toilet only flushed half of the time. The only redeeming part was the front desk staff were always friendly and apologetic. I was trying not to be a Karen, but I also don’t book a hotel room to sleep in a sauna.

The staff was amazing, especially Derek. When small issues came up, he went beyond to assist us and make sure we had everything we needed. I do wish the they had a larger place for dogs to go do their business. The options were the strips of grass adjacent to very busy roads or in the small islands separating parking areas. Oh, and definitely take advantage of the diner next door for breakfast. Great, historical little greasy spoon.

Subject: Unprofessional and Condescending Guest Interaction
I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding an interaction I experienced during my recent stay at your hotel.
As I entered the property with a group of guests, I was approached by a tall Black female employee dressed in all black, who appeared to be working alongside a younger Latina colleague. I believe the employee’s name may have been Lashay.
Rather than greeting or welcoming me as a guest, her approach was immediately confrontational, embarrassing, and condescending. She made an assumption that I did not have a room at the hotel and questioned me in a manner that was uncouth and highly unprofessional. Even after I provided my room number, she continued to question me, which only added to the discomfort of the situation—especially in front of other guests.
This type of interaction is not reflective of the standards of hospitality I expect, particularly as I am a loyal IHG member who stays at this location regularly. I have always chosen this property because of the level of service and professionalism typically provided, which made this experience especially disappointing.
I am making every effort to remain calm and respectful in addressing this matter, but I do feel it is important that both hotel management and corporate are made aware of this incident. No guest should be made to feel embarrassed or unfairly scrutinized upon entering an establishment where they are paying to stay.
I hope this matter is reviewed seriously and that appropriate steps are taken to ensure all guests are treated with dignity, courtesy, and professionalism moving forward.
Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

Pros: centrally located. Parking is complimentary.
Cons:
I had difficulty getting into my room because the door was stuck. And after requesting late check out which im eligible for with my platinum status. I still had multiple maids come prior to my late check out time---all of whom forcefully tried to get in the door. This is probably why the door is missed up to begin with. Bc their Gustapo of maids try break down the doors and escort you out like a criminal. The internet is spotty at best....I wouldnt recommend here if you work remote. The boiler wasn't working so my room wasn't heated. Pancake machine out of order. I won't be back.

Plachette C. at the front desk was a much needed friendly face and was very helpful even before I arrived with providing information to get me to the hotel and getting me checked in last minute late in the night and after a long drive in with a bad experience at another hotel where my reservation was cancelled. Plachette's professionalism was very much appreciated and being a regional Manager of hospitality myself I shared my previous experience with her and thanked her for being a professional and hospitable person. I will definitely be choosing to stay ar this hotel in the future when my travel brings me back this way. the rooms and property are well kept and clean and the staff is great and very accommodating.
