At no point were we “sneaking off.” I did explain at the time, and will reiterate here, that we were dealing with an emergency at the gas station. Due to traffic completely blocking access, it was not possible to get there by car. You did not see me returning with shopping bags, nor did you see the person I was with reenter the area. That’s because 1)we were not shopping, and 2)the individual initially with me had to attend to the emergency we rushed to address. We were not clearly informed that the parking was restricted in a way that justified immediate towing, nor were we given a reasonable opportunity to move the vehicle before that action was taken. The situation was handled in an unnecessarily aggressive and punitive manner, which is the main issue raised in my original review. As a manager, there is an expectation of professionalism, clear communication, and good-faith efforts to resolve situations before escalating them. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. 11/28/2025Today I had a very disturbing experience at this location. I temporarily parked at the Holiday Inn Express at 21410 Fairfield Place Dr, Cypress, TX during a medical emergency, and the manager chose to have my vehicle towed, assuming I was using the lot for the nearby shopping center. I then had to pay $310.33 to get my car released. This decision was made without any attempt to communicate with me, verify the situation, or consider the circumstances. This lack of professionalism and compassion, particularly during a medical situation is deeply concerning and reflects poorly on the standards I expect from Holiday Inn Express and the IHG brand.
