I had a great visit to the Holiday Inn in Crockett. The front desk staff was incredibly accommodating and went out of their way to ensure I had a good stay. I needed to check in early for an online meeting and my early check-in accommodation was Matt with full corporation from the staff to get me in my room so that I could make my meeting on time. The hotel manager offered multiple recommendations on local places to eat and things to do while I was in Crockett on business. I appreciated their willingness to help and acclimate me to the area. I will stay here again.

I called the Holiday Inn customer service to book my reservation by points and as usual, their Customer Service was disastrous. After booking my first night, the representative advised that I owed a fee. I argued why would I owe a fee if I'm booking with points?! She subsequently removed the extra fee. I then called back several days later to add another night to my initial booking and naturally assumed the new confirmation would seamlessly flow into the first booking, to the contrary. Saturday morning, I receive a call from Christine that we weren't checked out. I stated to her, "What are you talking about, we have the room booked through Sunday, October 5th." Due to a screw-up by the Customer Service representative, she failed to attach my revised confirmation to the original confirmation. I demanded she call the hotel directly to straighten the problem out which fortunately, she was able to do.
To add to the headache, I viewed my bank account and noticed a $45 charge! I questioned the charge and was advised by Jamie that the charge was due to a supposedly dirty towel with a stain on it. That is the most absurd thing I have heard from a hotel, much less $45 dollars for a dang towel, which is absolutely ridiculous! Unfortunately, this hotel is about the only option in that town so good luck on your stay. I am totally annoyed with Holiday Inn overall because there is always a problem!

Travelers, beware. This hotel enforces an absurd policy of charging guests for towels that become dirty, as if towels aren’t meant to be used. I’ve stayed at countless hotels and have never encountered such a practice. It feels like a clear money grab disguised as a cleanliness standard.
When I questioned the charge, the front desk clerk, Jamie, was extremely rude and dismissive. She claimed her general manager, Sabrina, would support her decision and even told us we were welcome to stay elsewhere. This level of unprofessionalism and disregard for guests is completely unacceptable. I strongly recommend choosing another hotel that values its customers and understands the meaning of hospitality.
If you do stay here please bring your own towels.
