- DDDawnOct 18, 20254.0I read pretty bad reviews about this HI Express, but it was the closest thing I could find to Round Top for the Fall 2025 Antiques week, so I booked it. The location is directly off I-10, easy to find, and we arrived around 5pm. Front desk staff was friendly enough, not overly though. The elevator worried me a bit, as it's a bit dirty and squeaky, however when we got to our room (310) it was absolutely lovely. Recently remodeled, I couldnt find a thing wrong with it. Had a mini fridge that worked really well, a microwave, a K Cup coffee maker with coffee and a couple of Teas provided. Shampoo/conditioner/body wash/hand soap and body lotion were all provided in pump dispensers - Dove products. The bed was on the firm size, but very clean, 4 pillows per queen bed. Included a side chair and table, desk with rolling chair, dresser and closet, and space for suitcases. I was totally happy with the room. We were there for 5 days, and I don't think I was greeted upon entering/exiting the hotel once by staff, but it isn't necessary for a good nights sleep - they could just be a tiny bit friendlier/more present. Housekeeping did a wonderful job, parking was adequate - all in all a great stay, and I would honestly book here again for a Round Top trip, just to get away from all the bustle to get a quiet nights sleep! I am a white female senior citizen. I had a Visa card excepted anywhere except Holiday Inn Express. It was a ZIP card Visa and supposedly their machine did not take it. NO, they didn’t know how to use their new system. I will book online and pay online from now on But I will NEVER stay at a Holiday Inn Express again and I travel very often!
- ASAnne SchaeferJul 10, 20252.0I booked a room while traveling for a family funeral. (Paid in advance.) The parking lot was flooded and not draining properly. We had to walk through water to get in the hotel. There was no attendant at the front desk when we arrived. The regional manager happened to be there and checked us in. The bathroom wasn’t very clean- residue on the soap dispenser and hair on the floor. Later on, we discovered the TV was not working properly and had to troubleshoot the issue ourselves since there was no other room available to move to and no one willing to fix it. We found out that there was a better hotel in town that cost half the price we paid. We will never stay at this hotel again. I travel for my job, and I will make it a point to avoid Holiday Inns in the future.

I asked for more towels, I was told that none were available. Next day I switch from single to a double only to fine that the A/C was not cooling in that room and the cable was out. I wish the owner would do better with utilities. The breakfast and pool were awsome!!!
