- EIElijah IIINov 12, 20251.0Subject: Urgent Complaint – Unprofessional Service and Mishandled Reservation Dear IHG Guest Relations, I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding an extremely disappointing experience I had at your holiday INn express bay city tx on 11/11/2025 at around 7:16 when I booked to around 8pm when I arrived Earlier today, I called the hotel directly to confirm room availability for tonight. The agent I spoke with insisted that rooms were selling out quickly and required a credit card to hold my reservation. I clearly explained that my company uses CLC Lodging for corporate stays and that my reservation would be completed through that channel. The agent confirmed this would not be an issue. However, upon arrival, I was informed that two separate reservations had been created — one under my personal IHG account and another under CLC. I immediately requested that the personal reservation be canceled to avoid double-booking, but the front desk agent refused, claiming I would still be charged for one night. This is completely unacceptable given that the duplicate reservation resulted from misinformation provided by your own staff. When I asked for assistance and an upgrade for the inconvenience, the front desk agent Samantha was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. She claimed she upgraded me but then refused to extend my stay or allow me to switch to a standard king room, citing that “others were waiting,” even though no guests were behind me. Her tone and behavior were condescending and showed a complete disregard for basic customer service standards. So rather book me for the original 30 plus days I was staying she booked me for only one day and I had to leave all because I informed her I wasnt paying for a one day stay for a cancelation that shouldn't have taken place at all I only wanted one reservation for 30 days plus This situation caused unnecessary frustration, wasted time, and reflected poorly on the IHG brand — a brand I have trusted for years both personally and professionally. I am requesting the following: 1. Immediate cancellation and refund of any unauthorized or duplicate reservation charged to my personal card. 2. A formal apology for the treatment I received at check-in. 3. Compensation or points credit for the inconvenience and poor service. Please investigate this matter promptly and provide confirmation that the improper charge will be reversed.

Esteban was very cordial and helpful when we checked in. Local eateries are close, the rooms were clean, it was quiet, the beds were comfortable, and we all had a good night sleep! Well use them again if we're in the area!!!
