At the crossroads where Town Lake meets downtown, the LINE Austin draws influence from both the surrounding natural beauty and the creative energy that fuels the city. Once home to a jazz club that broadcast live on local radio in the late 1960s, the hotel is part of downtown Austin history and holds a cultural legacy within its walls as unique as the city itself.
The LINE is centrally located downtown among Austin’s most interesting cultural treasures. Every direction offers something to discover: walk north for a museum day at The Blanton and The Contemporary or ride a bike to the eastside for tacos and drinks on a patio. Stay downtown for a live show at the Paramount Theater, travel across the bridge to the South Congress district or rent a canoe and explore the lake – which also happens to be a river.
I was disappointed that this hotel did not deliver on what was advertised. While the location was convenient, the room itself was really disappointing - it was visibly dirty and poorly maintained. For example, there appeared to be a large coffee or wine stain next to the bed, along with noticeable dirt and grime on the tables (photos attached).
Service was also underwhelming. The front desk staff, in particular, came across as unenthusiastic and not especially welcoming.
To be fair, the pricing was reasonable, and my expectations were aligned with that. However, basic cleanliness and a baseline level of service should still be a given.
The pool area was another letdown. It’s overcrowded and not particularly relaxing. Its proximity to an overpass made it noisy, with frequent traffic sounds and honking that took away from the experience.
Overall, I would not choose to stay here again.

Excellent location in Austin - maybe the best location for sunset and ease of getting around to all parts of town, either for a weekend getaway or conference. The rooftop is beautiful for sunset, and the restaurant on the floor is lovely. I attended a private event on the rooftop and would definitely recommend it as a venue for someone hosting an event of 30 people or less. The event passed hors d’oeuvres were high quality and met all dietary needs, and the cocktails were good.

Not impressed with anything about this property. Had to book something last minute for an unexpected family issue and thought this looked nice. The rooms show the age of the property and have a worn out feel. Bed is rough and the sheets are a low thread count for the price point expected. There is a surprise amenity fee charged that is not disclosed or noted at check in so be prepared. It's apparently for the onsite amenities but everything onsite was standard in a full service or limited service hotel. I see no benefits to this property over another. I was charged for items in the room I did not use or consume. Overall disappointed with my experience and post stay suprise charges. Lobby is nice and redone and the room's bathroom was nice other than that nothing major to note.

Great location, and great staff. The hotel needs a ton of attention through out all commons areas besides the lobby. Outside noise if very auditable even on the 11th floor. Biggest frustration was fees and fees. Spent 3 nights, 150(ish) in junk fees. Resort fee? For what, the tiny pool? The super old rusty hot stagnant gym? Would have to seriously consider staying here again. Just be transparent with your fees in the totals shown at booking. If you’re going to charge a mandatory fee +taxes on it than that’s a cost g that’s known!

Booked this through Amex Travel thinking I was walking into at least a semi-5 star experience… not even close.
To be fair vibe is great. Location is basically perfect. It looks like a cool hotel.
But actually staying here is Super overrated.
Feels like a dressed-up 3-star hotel money grab Vegas hell hole with branding. There’s also this weird entitled energy, especially if you’re not from Austin, that just makes the whole thing feel off.
Biggest issue is the constant money grab. $28 “amenities fee” for what… a tpathetic sad Gym and Nespresso pods? Seriously? Everything feels like an upsell. It’s like a used car dealership figured out how to design a trendy hotel.
Trying to get coffee or breakfast at peak times is a joke. You’ll wait forever, pay way too much, and it’s not even that good.
Even getting in and out of the hotel is a mess.... traffic backs up constantly and no one seems to care.
Honestly, great place to hang for a drink. Staying here (especially at these prices) feels like a ripoff..
