On a cold day in March, my car battery and my phone both died. I was going into places to find a charger for my phone. Luckily, Steven at the front desk gladly helped me out. Thank You Steven You the Goat

The staff here were very kind and apologetic, but unfortunately the overall experience was disappointing. When we first arrived, the room had several cleanliness issues. The carpet and couch were stained, the bathroom sink was cracked, and the bathroom floor clearly had not been cleaned. Because the couch looked so dirty, I asked to switch rooms. The second room’s couch was even worse, so we returned to the first room. Housekeeping came and tried to scrub the couch, but it was left soaking wet, which meant we still could not use it. For the price of this hotel, I would expect the rooms to be cleaned much more thoroughly. The pool area also seemed poorly maintained. The vacuum hose and skimmer were left on the ground, there were empty beer cans near the pool entrance, and several loungers had tears starting along the edges. One other major concern was the location. I walked to Target, which is less than a 20 minute walk away. While walking back on the sidewalk, a man stopped his car and solicited me for “work.” When I returned to the hotel, I asked the front desk about the safety of walkability in the area and the man told me that the area toward Highway 35 and under to the other side is not a safe place to walk alone. As someone from out of town attending a conference, I had no way of knowing this. Just something to be aware of, especially for women traveling alone.

Excellent location to the Texas Government buildings. Great hotel bar/ restaurant and breakfast bar. Bed w as very comfy and the room was large. Hot water and shower head was the best. The balcony was a nice surprise. Staff was welcoming and attentive.

Bathroom see sink loose on vanity; wall thermostat falling out of wall; fridge cabinet door scraping on floor; 2 toilet paper holders - neither were convenient to reach; bed high enough for basketball players but toilet low enough for 3d grader; hold bar in shower between toilet and shower faucet and behind curtain; handicap toilet in ladies room not ADA height=too low. Took over an hour to get microphone in meeting room. Somehow got booked through Priceline and cost $80 more than event rate.

Rooms are a little worn down but otherwise was a good stay. Really good breakfast for a 3-star hotel (minus the desserts, which were dry). I had to make a last-minute booking for an extra night and getting it sorted came with super fast and friendly service. Wasn't able to extend my original booking due to capacity at the time and I'm grateful they told me I could stay in the same room.
