  Well, where do I start. When approaching the entrance I noticed the parking lot and landscaping to be unkempt. Then they tell me they charge for the breakfast. WHAT. No coffee cups in room to make coffee. Beds and towels were nice. Not worth 200.00 a night for 8 hours and a shower.

  Came in last min and the staff accommodated us wells. A great breakfast was the highlight of the trip.

  Ended up here unexpectedly after our vehicle broke down on I-40, and the Holiday Inn Amarillo East made a tough situation a lot more bearable. The front desk was incredibly accommodating with a flexible late checkout since we weren't sure when our vehicle would be ready, no hassle, no attitude, just genuine helpfulness. They also went out of their way to stash our cooler of freshly caught crappie in their commercial freezer after an unexpected delay left us worried about our fish thawing. That's above and beyond by any measure. Rooms were very clean and the beds were genuinely comfortable. The indoor pool was a hit with the kids, and impressively the water was refreshingly cold even though the pool area itself was warm on a nearly 100 degree Amarillo day. Perfect combination for stressed out kids stuck in a city they didn't plan to be in. Would absolutely stay here again, and would recommend it without hesitation to anyone passing through Amarillo.

  Our experience: Limited housekeeping - means having to ask for towels every day, toilet paper on day two and the trash cans weren’t emptied in our room for the three days we were there. Every time we checked to see if the pool/hot tub was open, it wasn’t -it was closed for routine maintenance during afternoon hours on a weekend. Luke warm to cool water for showers-unless you were up very early to have hot. Only one elevator, out of two, ever came when called. Other wasn’t marked out of service but never saw it used in the three days we were there. There were many times it would have made things easier had two been working-especially when families with children and luggage were coming and going. Ice machines only worked on one floor and then you only got a few cubes to drop. Washing machine on third floor was out of order - used another floor only to find out the dryer on that floor doesn’t ever truly dry your clothes. Then had to go to another floor to dry clothes. Cannot comment on the food as there is no free breakfast nor was there ever complimentary coffee in the urns in the lobby when we went down early morning. Inquired twice one morning (0800 hours) and didn’t see it made/refilled after asking. Just not the Holiday Inn stay experience we are used to. Definitely a difference between Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express Suites…. Buyer beware.

  I arrived with my family as a midway stop to Colorado. I booked a double queen suite. We arrived, the Receptionist was pleasant, not rude, or excited to be there but nonetheless we got checked in within 2 minutes. I unload my family and walk in to a double bed. I return to the FD to let her know I booked a suite. She says "OH ok". I let her know I need the 3rd bed and she says "Im sorry we have limited options). Well I booked a suite, that is what was needed. We then get changed to room 404. Room smelled dirty/gross. Extra bedding for the sleeper sofa was stained and had hair.GROSS! I had to then return to the desk AGAIN for new linens. I go to give my daughter a bath and there is little black hair all in the shower and all of over the floor/ behind the door. DISGUSTING! I really wish I had took a picture! That housekeeper needs to be fired for pure LAZINESS! $250 for a dirty room is unacceptable! Positive Note: Nice reception area. The beds are comfortable. (These were clean) Breakfast staff was very friendly and area was clean.
