I stayed here twice. This place is horrible! The construction crews and the working crews that come through here have destroyed at this hotel. Nothing works. My TV didn’t even work in my room. Staff tried to fix it, but didn’t seem overly concerned. I asked to find me another room they basically stated we don’t have any available. Curtain blinds were broke, one room they tried to give me, but I pushed back, didn’t even have curtains on the windows. How can you sleep in a room with bright lights outside with no curtains. Someone from Holiday Inn express needs to come here and get a hold of these people! This is not the standard I’m used to at a Holiday Inn express hotel. I will not stay here again. I am a business traveler with the Air Force and if I could tell the Air Force not to let any of our travelers stay here I would! Additionally, look like someone had put a hole in the wall and maintenance had repaired that. But they got spackle all over the carpet and room service never cleaned it up. So over the course of the three days I was in this room of course I trampled into the carpet. Let’s not talk about the green pool outside my window. Come on hotel for almost $300 a night you’re charging everyone can’t you at least afford a little chlorine to put in the pool and keep it blue during the winter time? Zero stars

Everything in Abilene is inflated right now, but we paid $800 for TWO nights and didn't get the room we paid for, nor did we get breakfast. We booked a 1 king suite. The reservation indicated it was the last one. Apparently none existed. We were put in a two queen. No one called to notify us they were sold out, and there was no mention at checkin that the room we purchased was not available. We found out we had two queen beds by walking Iin our room. We called the front desk before unpacking to let them know of the error. The front desk girl just told us she hands out keys, management assigns rooms, they were sold out, and she had no room to move us to. The TV was broken, so I decided to go to the front. Surely there was something that could be done. She said no management was available on the weekend. I asked what if there's an emergency? That's no one on call? She then called someone and passive aggressively told them she had a customer who insisted on talking to someone higher up. Whoever she called, I'll never know, they didn't talk to me, they said they were aware of it, and no manager was available until Monday. I returned to my room to call IHG to make them aware. I was put on hold while IHG called a manager. IHG called the hotel and spoke to the same girl, who couldn't do anything, so that was a waste of time. My husband was able to fix the TV. The bathroom drain was stuck, so water built up in the bathroom sink. We asked Friday night about the broken sink and were told maintenance would come Saturday morning. I called about 1pm Saturday they said they would come right up. She confirmed our room number, we waited, no one came. My husband took the drain out and just set it on the counter so water would drain. The TV was broken again Friday night after we went to dinner. This time the front desk girl came and finagled it Saturday morning breakfast had zero cinnamon rolls or pancakes or bananas. There was barely anything at 9am. I was told the weightlifting team ate everything. She said, "we put out 18 cinnamon rolls like we do everyday and they ate them all " 18! The hotel was sold out. 18. Ok. There is a place for pancakes, but no pancake maker. There are two coffee machines. One is permanently broken. They had the same dry overcooked eggs both mornings. Basically they have free coffee. Not breakfast. $800 for two nights at a Holiday Inn. Terrible. While the beds were soft, they were creaky, VERY loud springs. It was rough. I cannot recommend this place. Nope. I can honestly handle all of these things from a place who cares. No one here apologized, offered compensation, or seemed to care even a tiny bit. I understand things happen. This place just doesn't care. Once you're there, they have your money, they're good. Update- when I tried to leave a review on the hotel website it said I didn't have a reservation. I don't know if they manipulated my booking so it couldn't be found so I couldn't review it but I absolutely did have a reservation. I added pictures.

The staff was great, helpful, and kind. It was super expensive almost 300 dollars. I stay many nights at holiday inn. I was super disappointed that it was this expensive, for no obvious reason.
Where do I even start? If you’ve ever wondered what a $35-a-night motel experience feels like at $140 a night, this is the place for you.
I stayed here for 8 days and didn’t receive room service once. I asked multiple times and got a new excuse each day. By day six, I finally just asked for a housekeeping cart and cleaned the room myself. Yes, really. I attached a photo of my vacuuming my room as proof.
On top of that, a surprising number of things were broken. The room safe didn’t work, the shower diverter valve barely functioned, several outlets were dead, and the side doors of the hotel didn’t latch or secure properly. The tragic comedy in all of this was that the maintenance guy was easy to find at any time—usually sitting on the couch near the front desk.
Speaking of the front desk, it was nearly impossible to tell who actually worked there. No name badges, no uniforms, and friends of employees just hanging out behind the desk area made it feel more like a living room than a business.
The one shining nugget in this pile was the breakfast. The biscuits were genuinely great, and one of the front desk ladies was very friendly. She couldn’t get anything fixed, but she was at least kind and professional. I don't know her name because no one had any identifiers.
If management ever decides to match the price to the experience—or the experience to the price—this place might be worth another look. Until then, I’d recommend staying elsewhere.

Another great Holiday Inn Express to stay at while working in the area.
