This place is garbage, the black girl that works here is the rudest person I’ve ever met. Feeling the fatigue hard. Tried calling the place all day, no answer, I show up and she’s just sitting on her butt. I had a thirty day reservation and she told me I couldn’t use the restroom.

The price was high for not offering complimentary breakfast. The room above us stomped around all night. Had to repeat myself multiple times at check in. Felt like the lady wasn't listening to what I was asking for. Was very frustrating.

How come the hotel rate is about $150 and the pet fee is $200 even if you stay for just one night??? Lost key $5??? Hotel feels, smells and sounds old, but the rates are as if it were new.

Misleading Pet Fees and Terrible Service -- Beware I booked a stay at Candlewood Suites in Abilene for my wife and kids based on the clearly advertised $25 non-refundable pet fee shown online and in my confirmation email. At no point was anything else disclosed. But when my wife checked in, she was suddenly told the pet fee was $200. When she questioned it, the staff told her that if she didn't like it, she could "go somewhere else," and claimed the fee had been changed that morning. The lack of transparency here is alarming. To make matters worse, my wife was traveling alone with my two young daughters and our large dog. They unloaded all of their luggage, carried it upstairs, only to discover the first room they assigned them was already occupied. They had to drag everything back down, then up again to another room -- which was also unacceptable -- until they had no choice but to settle for a dirty room (gnats) with a single bed, nowhere near what we had reserved. After a nine-hour drive, this was the last thing my family needed. The staff expected my wife to either accept the surprise $200 fee and the wrong room at 10 PM at night, or somehow go find another hotel on Thanksgiving Week, when vacancies are nearly impossible to find. That kind of attitude toward guests is unbelievable. Between the deceptive pet fee, the dismissive and unhelpful staff, and the exhausting ordeal of moving room to room with two kids and a dog late at night, this was easily one of the worst hotel experiences we've ever had. I strongly recommend avoiding this property. I've also reported them to the BBB and have all documentation stating the $25 Pet Fee. And now that I am reading these reviews, It was not changed that day, but this is a reoccurring issue, which isn't going to change unless possible legal action is taken. I am up for a class action if you are!
