  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Wonderful Stay & Great Location We had a lovely stay at Holiday Inn Istanbul Old City. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and always helpful whenever we needed anything. Their warm service really made our stay more enjoyable. The location is excellent, close to many attractions, with lots of shopping, restaurants and delicious local food nearby. It’s a very convenient place to stay if you want to explore the Old City. We had a wonderful experience and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended! ❤️🇹🇷

  My stay at Holiday Inn Istanbul City Center was a very pleasant surprise, and I’m genuinely glad I decided to stay here. The check-in was excellent. Fatı, the Front Desk Manager, personally took care of my arrival and made the whole process smooth and welcoming. As an IHG One Rewards Gold member, I was also very happy to receive a complimentary room upgrade. It’s always great when loyalty status actually translates into a tangible benefit. The upgraded room was spacious and had a small balcony with a fantastic view over the rooftops towards the water. You can see the ships passing by, and the view becomes especially beautiful at night when the ships and the city lights are illuminated. It was one of those simple hotel moments that genuinely makes a stay more memorable. Breakfast was perfectly fine, and I also appreciated the hotel’s transfer service. They offered me a very reasonably priced transfer that was actually cheaper than taking a regular taxi, which is a very convenient option in Istanbul. The hotel is clearly not brand new, but it is obvious that the team takes good care of the property. There are some minor signs of age here and there, but nothing that affected my stay. For example, there was a strange-looking mark on one of the sheets. The sheet was clean, but the mark was unusual, so I mentioned it and the team immediately replaced it without any discussion. That kind of response says a lot about the attitude of the staff. The location is also very convenient, with easy access to the tram and the city centre. Overall, I’m very happy with my choice and proud to be part of the IHG family. A very enjoyable stay.

  Loyalty status: yes, booked through IHG.com Amex accepted: yes Description: The Holiday Inn Istanbul Old City is situated in a large stately building in the old city area of Istanbul. It has a central location close to various public transport options making it very easy to explore the vast city from here. There are two check-in counters with a waiting area. At checkout and check-in time it can get very busy. The rooms are well maintained. I stayed in the suite with bath and balcony. The balcony offers a view on the city with some of the landmarks clearly visible on the horizon. The room itself was very spacious with a dining area, office area, king sized bed, bathroom and a seperate bubble bath area. The furniture was comfortable, well maintained and clean. The room overall was very clean with housekeeping clearly doing an excellent job. The wellness area and fitness area were well equipped too. I enjoyed a Turkish bath here with a classic Turkish massage/skin sanding. This was a very authentic experience with the stones of the rest areas being very warm. The breakfast buffet has a large selection of Turkish and continental breakfast options. I particularly enjoyed the sun dried black olives. The staff was very helpful with many tips and restaurant suggestions. They even helped with acquiring an Istanbul metro pass. I can recommend this hotel especially if you plan on exploring the old city and Egyptian market area. It is very conveniently located for that.

  The room I stayed in had glass stains on the bathroom counter—I ended up covering them with a towel just to hide them. This was also the only place I've stayed in Istanbul that didn't have a working bidet. On top of that, the closet was extremely small, and the room had a very dated, old feel overall. Finally, the walk to the train was not as convenient.

  The hotel is well located, which is one of its main advantages. However, the overall condition of the room was disappointing and would benefit from an update and proper maintenance. The room felt dated, and the bathroom was not cleaned to an acceptable standard. There was visible mould between the tiles and around the bathtub, which gave the bathroom an unhygienic appearance and made the stay less comfortable. The breakfast was very basic, and the dining area was extremely crowded, with insufficient space for the number of guests. On one occasion, we had to set up the table ourselves in the reception/bar area because there was not enough seating available in the dining area. It also appeared that the hotel was seriously understaffed. The staff seemed overwhelmed and under considerable pressure due to the situation, which affected the overall service and atmosphere. While the staff appeared to be doing their best under difficult circumstances, the lack of staff was noticeable and resulted in a poor guest experience. Overall, although the location is convenient, the hotel needs significant improvements in room maintenance, bathroom cleanliness, breakfast arrangements, dining space, and staffing levels. These issues should be addressed to provide guests with a cleaner, more comfortable, and better-organised experience. There were also not enough cups, glasses, and other basic tableware available during breakfast. Guests had to wait or look around for cups and glasses, which added to the inconvenience and made the breakfast service feel poorly organised.
