I'm teetering between 2 and 3 stars primarily because the beds are terrible, which is the main reason for staying in a hotel. We were in a double room and both beds were just awful. On the other hand, the staff was all very friendly during our short stay.

- DGDan GeekmanJun 12, 20133.0The room was better than expected (we received a free upgrade as I'm a Gold member with Holiday Inn Express - to that was a bonus). The draw back was two-fold. First, my son broke out in hives while we stayed there (he had a reaction with something in the room - likely pet dander or ??) - this problem promptly went away after we left the hotel. I did see another person staying at the hotel walk out with a dog (not a service dog either) so I'm betting it was a pet issue even though the front desk stated no animals had been in the room. While we were there (one night) we called down to the front desk asking for a blanket. After waiting for an hour + (at night) while trying to get our kids to sleep I got frustrated and went downstairs to find the attendant at the front desk sitting in the lobby watching TV - mind you this is a 40-50 year old mature woman not some punk kid. Needless to say I was ticked but was polite. Beyond that her manner was curt while checking in and I got the feeling she wasn't a very friendly person. I love Holiday Inn Express but will pass on coming back to this one.
