The night before check in I was able to pick a room. As typically happens I arrive early and am let in my room. The room wasn't supposedly ready until 3:30. Asked about waters & was told they are in the room. They weren't! At check in i wasn't told I had to do something special to get the shower working, so the next morning when I told the front desk, she said there were instructions in the info given. Then later I heard her talking about me to another employee. Smh

Something I have struggled to find in Pigeon forge is wheelchair accessible places to stay.
It seems that a lot of new hotels have went up in the past several years and there are more options now.
Hilton garden inn was perfect. We got a king accessible suite. Pull out sofa for our son in the living room, and king bedroom in the back for us.
The bathroom had plenty of room to turn my chair around. And grab bars, where needed.
Bonus we had a balcony overlooking Pigeon Forge! Plenty of room to drive my chair onto the balcony and turn around.
We will choose this hotel, and same type room every time from now on.

Came down from Fort Wayne, Indiana, last week/weekend for Slammedenuff. I feared I would not have any parking for my truck and trailer but amazingly there was plenty of room and did not need to park it elsewhere. The location and scenic views from the property were absolutely amazing and beautiful. We were close by to everything either direction, traffic sucked at times but was expected. Thanks to idiots conducting a takeover or riot Saturday night, complete nightmare Sunday with everything canceled and all surrounding cities issuing statements "forcing" event guests to "vacate immediately, peacefully, and orderly". Here comes my problem: I went up to the front desk and asked about a refund for one night if we decided to leave early. The first lady I encountered (black or brunette hair - her overall demeanor seemed like she did not want to be there at all) said I had not even 30 minutes if I wanted a full refund (I fully understand I should have gone down and asked sooner but we were still processing what had happened across town overnight and trying to come up with a game plan, see if we even wanted to leave early) and I even asked if we checked out a little late she said I would still be charged the night as a late check out fee. We got around, loaded cars up, and went to check out just shy of an hour late. The interaction checking out with a different lady (blonde hair) after explaining the situation again was much more understanding, respectful, and helpful as I was told even though I was late she was not going to charge me a late check out fee or for the one night. Got home real late Sunday night, going through emails for the weekend yesterday and I saw the receipt I was still charged half of the one night we weren't there as a late check out fee ($100)!! To make matters worse when I checked my bank account, I was STILL charged the FULL amount that I was charged at check in!!!! Why was I charged (little over $200) for one night that I was not even there at all?!?!?!?!? Why tell me directly in person one thing, then say something different on the receipt, then say something even different to my bank account?!?!?!?!? I've had emergencies come up or gotten bored or disrespected or whatever and left other Hilton hotels a night or two early checking out two hours late or even several hours late in the evening after check in time started, I have NEVER once been charged for a night I have not been there or even a late check out fee. I've been using Hilton hotels for 4 years now, 3 of those years personally (job I had at the time when I traveled frequently for a while always used Hilton). I have called Hilton Customer Support 3 times (twice yesterday, once already today), and someone from the hotel is supposed to be calling me back. I could care less if no one ever calls me back. If I am not refunded the full amount for the one night I was not there, Hilton group will lose any future business from me.
EDIT: Within two (2) hours of leaving this review, someone from Hilton Customer Support finally called me back (would've been nice if it was from the location itself but can't be too picky at the end of the day). Got the refund on the way and an accurately updated receipt. Hopefully this is the one and only time I ever have to experience this problem.
