For the love of god. What hotel doesn’t have a snack bar or basic items? The reason this place is cheap is because it’s old. Don’t stay here

I stayed here during the ice storm. They really stepped it up and was a huge help to us. The staff were super helpful. The rooms were comfortable. They were super accommodating. Well worth the value!

I knew this hotel to be one of the older ones in Nashville, but I was not expecting the harsh reality of just how outdated the owners have allowed this hotel to become when I went there during our recent ice/snow storm. It is long past its glory days and is a sad remnant of what it was in the late 70s & early 80s from the horrifically dirty, matted carpet (from the lobby to the rooms) to the beyond-capable-of-being-cleaned room furniture, to the peeling base molding. It smelled of leaking gas when I entered, and a staff member told me the bldg. engineer had been informed. I have a chronic respiratory disease and simply could not stay nor would I given the condition of the hotel and rooms. I left within 45 min. of my arrival. The best thing about this hotel are the two staff members I came into contact with who graciously assisted me with my check-out, which wasn't "supposed to be" charged to my credit card given the circumstances, and then assisted me again when the hotel's billing system repeatedly added charges to my credit card days after my departure. They were a blessing. The hotel -- not so much.

I stayed at this hotel during the ice storm here in Nashville during the month of January. I am from Nashville and my entire life this hotel has always held a good reputation of being a nice hotel that was always good go to place. I knew the hotel was outdated inside and did expect that but I definitely didn’t expect what was to come. This hotel needs a complete overhaul from new staff to renovations and better amenities. We waited 5 hours for our room in the lobby and kept being told we had to wait while watching other people who came in after us get keys to their room. Instead of checking what was going on with the room, the gentleman at the front desk kept giving the same speech to anyone who approached the desk. I understand it was an overwhelming time since I’m sure the amount of people staying at this hotel was more than this hotel had ever seen. I have honestly never stayed at a hotel like this, where staff seemed to not know how to answer some questions. I know they were doing their best but my goodness. We finally get to the room (after my partner had to go up there and firmly have the guy explain why others who came in after us were getting their key after we had been sitting in the lobby since 9:30 am and it was 2:30pm) and not only was it outdated, it was disgusting. The shower had standstill water in it when I turned the shower on. There was black scum that came shooting out and floating around in the standstill water. We ended up having to bathe in the sink.
You could also tell the room had only been partially cleaned because if you moved the bed over a little there were crumbs and gunk behind the bed. The carpet throughout the entire hotel had a smell and was visibly filthy. I was speaking with one other person staying at the hotel and she stated she was checking out early due to the hotel being “gross” and we followed suit. We decided to check out a day early because we, including my dog, were uncomfortable. We also got scammed out of a $40 pizza by a pizza place that the hotel advertises on their front counter. Pizza was never delivered but said it was.
Bottom line… I have stayed at many hotels and this one was a huge disappointment. We were also offered breakfast and when we went down to the breakfast it was even more insane. The waffle batter was spread all over the counter, the cheesy rice or hash browns (I couldn’t tell) had been torn into and no one in the hotel was coming in to tend to the area. It literally looked like kids had gone down there to play in the food. We were willing to risk it all in this ice storm to leave this hotel. Also, if you are going to allow animals in your hotel please get some type of receptacle outside to put poop in. By the end of the night there was so much dog poop and pee outside in front of the hotel we couldn’t even walk to take our dog out without risking stepping in another dogs poop and pee. And if you are going to have someone coming in to play the sax, please let him know to not come up to the guests of your hotel and say “can I give you some unsolicited advice!” I immediately answered no but the fact that he even came up to us was rude and inappropriate.

Staff was kind and accommodating. The inside and the actual hotel stay was gross. Check in took over an hour (this was because of the ice storm and the surplus of people I know), but by the time I made it to the desk my room was not ready (I made a reservation over the phone, and confirmed check in time multiple times). So I then had to beg for them to put me wherever was ready. Once in the room, things were fine as they could be. But then as I got ready for bed I noticed none of the free outlets worked. Which was strange. So I called the desk, no one could come help me and their only suggestion was to either wait until the morning (when I was checking out lol) or to “turn on a light switch” to see if that powered the outlets (???) Obviously that didn’t work and I was not about to remain in the lobby even longer; so I fled the space I initially came to evacuate. You guys are overcharging folks and can’t even keep reliable amenities for people in crisis or emergency evacuations. Yall just go to a Hilton. They won’t help you here.
