    We stayed here during a family vacation, and after the recent ice storm, and had a solid overall experience. It’s not the cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed in, but it definitely wasn’t dirty either. There are a few rough edges here and there, but nothing that made it uncomfortable — very livable and perfectly fine for our trip. Breakfast was included, which is always a plus. It was okay — nothing over the top — but they did have one of those automatic pancake machines, which was kind of fun and a nice touch. Parking was free, which made things much easier. The location worked well for us too, as long as you’re comfortable driving downtown and parking in public lots or on the street. One thing I really appreciated: I heard they were offering special rates to locals after the ice storm. That’s the kind of thing that speaks well of a hotel, and it was good to hear. Overall, I rated it 4 out of 5 stars across the board. Not perfect, but a good, reliable stay and I wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

    Everything was great except for the smoke detectors. They are literally green strobe lights. If you have issues with flashing lights you will not be able to sleep. Minus a star for strobe fire alarms (2) in the rooms. And minus another for charging for parking 🅿️ in their own parking lot. 🚗

    As an IHG Gold Elite Member, I’ve come to expect a baseline level of care, communication, and accountability when staying at IHG properties. Unfortunately, my recent experience at this Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Nashville fell well below that standard. I booked room types in advance for my party of seven band members, selecting exactly what we needed after a long day of travel through winter storms. Upon arrival, we were informed that the room types we had confirmed were no longer available. This change was not due to an error on our end, but rather a modification made by the hotel to our reservation after booking due to the property being oversold. What made this experience particularly disappointing was the response from the front desk staff. The attitude was noticeably nonchalant, with little urgency or concern shown in attempting to find a workable solution for our group. There was no real sense of ownership, empathy, or effort to make the situation right, despite the inconvenience being caused by an issue outside of our control. After checking in and realizing that no meaningful accommodation would be made, I ultimately had to leave the property and secure six rooms at another location late in the evening. This is not the experience a loyal IHG member expects, especially when traveling professionally and managing a group under challenging conditions. Mistakes happen, but how they are handled matters. In this case, the lack of care and customer service turned what could have been a manageable issue into a significant disruption. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to improve how guests are treated when things don’t go as planned.
